Spotlight on Federated Women's Institutes of Ontario

Digital access to Ontario's Tweedsmuir community histories is growing—and growing fast!

The FWIO and its branch members have collected local news, photos and information for almost 100 years, making this collection a treasure trove of local history for researchers, genealogists, and students.

Now, as part of the Documentary Heritage Communities Program, more than 500 digitized volumes of Tweedsmuir community histories, minutes, and photos are being reviewed and released to the public.

Hundreds of issues of the FWIO's Home & Country newsletter 1933-2015 are also fully searchable online.

This is an enormous project and we applaud all the members of the FWIO for their efforts in collecting and sharing these invaluable histories!

We think you will too...
