The road closure is needed to remove the temporary concrete barriers currently protecting an excavation.

Cheylesmore Local Election Results
Residents went to the polls on Thursday to elect  a new councillor in each of the 18 wards in Coventry. Cheylesmore saw a 34% turnout, meaning 1 in three residents voted. Sadly Mark didn't get enough votes to take over from Hazel, so we now have 1 Conservative and 2 Labour councillors representing the ward.
Read the results here.

Many thanks to Mark for all his hard work during his time with us and a huge thank you to Hazel for her 16 years of dedicated service.

Mark would like to thank all those who voted for him in the recent local elections and / or expressed an interest in the activities he had been involved in, in and around Cheylesmore, Whitley and Stonehouse.

Important – your Council Tax e-bill
A concerned resident contacted Roger about an email they’d received with the title “Important – your Council Tax e-bill”. They wanted to check that it wasn’t a scam before clicking on the link.

It’s been confirmed that this email is genuine

Wild Flower Seeds?
A resident contacted Roger to ask if there were any wild flower seeds available. Response from Mark Yates, Parks Development Officer
Unfortunately we do not have any spare wildflower seed, however the various mixes are readily available to domestic and commercial customers from the relevant suppliers who are: All the mixes combine a mixture of exotic and native species to give a much longer flowering period than purely native mixes. Costs vary according to the amounts bought and the species included in the mix.

BT Exchange in Cheylesmore
The secretary of the Cheylesmore Allotments Section informed us that she’s been in contact with BT with respect to the poor state of the area around the BT Exchange in Cheylesmore. The lack of maintenance of the area has led to large amounts of litter in the bushes, furniture being dumped and it being used as a general dog area.

She asked if they could provide a solution that would benefit all of the people in Cheylesmore, specifically in the local area, as leaving the area to waste was appalling.

Here’s the response from BT
Just a quick email to let you know that I have arranged for the area to be tidied up and will keep this tidy from now on.
We are not currently in a position to do anything about a change of use.
