News about your contract and Allina Health

MNA insurance is not a “good use of Allina’s resources”

That’s what Allina negotiators told MNA on Feb. 10.

Here’s what they think is a good use of resources:

Investments outside of Minnesota in Central America and the Caribbean – Antigua & Barbuda, Aruba, Bahamas - $159,786,000

Allina executive compensation for 2014 FY is $17,076,395*

Allina Board of Directors total compensation was $190,959**

*Form 990, Schedule J, Part II

**According to Allina’s 2014 tax returns, Allina’s Board of Directors worked an average of two hours per week.
Mary Root, Unity RN

"I have the MNA Plus Plan and it's been a life saver.  I had some severe gallbladder issues and after an ER visit, countless labs, and an ultrasound, my bill was a whopping $25!  I love the peace of mind knowing that I can see the doctor that I want to see without huge out-of-pocket expenses.  If I had to switch to the Allina plans, I would always be nervous that if something catastrophic happened I'd be stuck with thousands of dollars of medical debt.  Nurses deserve high quality health care, and that's why I'm ready to fight for our contract."

Penny Wheeler, CEO, Allina Health

"To have these high deductibles that have people with chronic illnesses not getting their follow-up care for their diabetes or their heart disease or something like that, that's a travesty." Penny Wheeler, July 8th, 2015
