English Camp April 2016

English Camp with the team from Canada was a blast!

Mark, one of the team members from Canada, shared a life even where he was lost in the mountains in Alaska and how God led him out safely

When we can, we like to tell you about our students that have been impacted by the ministry of The Centre. We will always change the name when we do so. Praise the Lord with us for this story.

I really had a good time at English Camp because I did many things that I had never done before. This included camping with foreigners! These were GOOD and kind people and I enjoyed being with them.

I also enjoyed playing the games, especially the photo challenge where we videoed ourselves fighting in slow motion!

The place we went to was beautiful and the weather was lovely and cold!

One special thing for me was that I heard some life stories in which people talked about how God had worked in their lives. Listening to these stories made me realise that I also have a story of how God has been working in my life. My story is that last year I told my neighbour (who is American) that I wanted to learn English. She told me that a good way to study English is to go to an English speaking church and since then she has taken me every week. I think it’s a good idea as it has taught me about God as well as helped me with my English. I enjoy going to church and spending time with these people who believe in God and have a hope. Now I am reading the Bible with one of the lovely teachers at The Centre and am enjoying learning more about God.

*Name changed for privacy.

  1. We are looking for committed prayer warriors who are willing to pray for the Centre at least once a week (every day is fine too). If God is calling you to this ministry, please let us know.
  2. We would like God to fill ALL our classrooms with teachers that love the Lord and are eager for their students to know the Lord. Pray for more teachers. We are joyful that we have 8 short term teachers/interns on our upcoming calendar.
  3. At the same time, pray for more students to fill the classrooms as God answers our prayers for more teachers. Pray for wisdom how to advertise effectively.
  4. Pray for the current, past, and future students: that their eyes and ears will be opened to the Good News. Pray that God will prepare the soil of their hearts to receive the seed of the gospel of truth. Pray that the 2 house churches started from the Centre will continue to multiply and leaders will be trained up in each church.
  5. Pray for spiritual protection for our staff. Satan has and is trying to take the Centre of out commission in many ways. Pray for him to be defeated, and Christ to be lifted up in all our activities.
  6. Pray for our staff to have opportunities to share their faith with their students.
  7. Pray for clear direction for the staff, as they explore varying methods, classes, or whatever God might want us to do to keep things fresh, and the gospel clear.
Centre Wish List
As you know, the Centre Network functions on donations only: donations from students, donations from staff and short term teachers, as well as other interested parties. This is the current wish list. If we had the money:
1. Air conditioner cleaning and repair. If they are cleaned they are cheaper to run. We have about 14 units for hot season! 500B/small unit.
2  Paper shredder. We have a lot of sensitive documents, and we have to tear them up by hand when we discard them.
3.  Printer with wifi. We have 4 computers working hard in the office, with 2 printers that don't always work. $200
4.  Locking mailbox.
