Staffing costs are generally the biggest expenditure for any employer, making hiring decisions a critical component of the future success of any business.  Bad hires cost employer’s money, time, and morale, and may lead to protracted litigation.  This seminar is designed to help employers find, select, and hire the very best candidates.  If you are still asking potential candidates about their strengths and weaknesses in an interview, then this course is for you.  Today employers should be hiring for character and need the proper tools to creatively and lawfully find the best candidates.  This practical seminar will help you find and hire the very best candidate to fill any job at your workplace.

Marylee Abrams has worked as a labor and employment attorney for over 25 years. She previously worked for the teacher’s union and the largest police union in the State of Minnesota serving dual roles representing both union members and union management in internal workplace matters. This unique perspective from both sides of the table,
lead her to open her own firm in 2008, dedicated solely to representing employers. She has arbitrated numerous disciplinary cases, been involved in both representing employees and conducting over 1,000 internal investigations, and lectured at numerous labor and employment seminars. Her firm covers a broad range of workplace issues facing employers including; union organizing, contract negotiations, arbitrations, unemployment challenges, unfair labor practices, workplace investigations, lay-offs, employee discipline, performance problems, employee handbooks, policies and procedures, and downsizing.
