2. FinCEAL+ Targeted Travel Grants to attend Info Days on H2020 Societal Challenge 1 & 2, June/July, Brussels
Deadline for the travel grant applications is 31st May.

3. FinCEAL+ Call for Open Travel Grants is still open - Apply now!
The call is open to researchers and PhD students based in Finnish research institutions, who are working within the FinCEAL+ themes. The Call is foreseen to close during summer 2016, apply as soon as possible! More information on how to apply
4. FinCEAL+ Project Preparatory Funding Call closed
Between March 2015 and April 2016, FinCEAL+ awarded Project Preparatory Grants between 2000€ and 5000€ to 10 teams from 6 Finnish institutions. More information

5. Call for Papers: Education Africa Research Seminar co-organized by FinCEAL+ Africa
This one day research seminar organized at the University of Jyväskylä on 19th October, addresses the timely issue of status and prospects of education in contemporary Africa. It's a platform for researchers from different career stages to present their work and debate about the recent developments and challenges regarding the formal and informal education in Africa especially in its potentialities to meet the needs of new generation in changing global context. Deadline for the Call for Papers is 30th June.

6. Call for Papers: BELAWARE Conference 2016 (Bridging Africa, Latin America and Europe on Water and Renewable Energies) co-organized by FinCEAL+
The conference will be held on 11-13th December, 2016 in Arusha, Tanzania. Researchers in Finnish institutions focusing on Africa and LAC are encouraged to submit papers to this conference. Deadline for abstract submission is 15th August. FinCEAL+ will open Targeted Travel grants later in the year to support the participation of some successful submissions. More information

7. FinCEAL+ Asia is supporting a Joint Workshop on Bioenergy in Delhi, India, 23-24 May
The Academy of Finland will organize a Joint workshop on Bioenergy in the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi), in cooperation with INDFICORE (Indian Finnish Consortia for Research and Education) network. A part of the workshop will focus on the upcoming Joint Inno Indigo ERA-Net Call on bio-based energy. Aalto University and IIT Delhi will jointly coordinate the practical arrangements for the workshop with support from the Academy of Finland and FinCEAL+.
8. FinCEAL+ LAC co-organizes "Nordic Perspectives on Strengthening Higher Education, Research and Innovation Cooperation with the LAC region" event in Stockholm, 2-3 June
This meeting of Nordic stakeholders is a platform to discuss the challenges, best practices and potential synergies in collaborating with Latin American and Caribbean institutions in higher education, research and innovation. The event is organized by European Institute of International Studies (EIIS) in cooperation with the Government Offices of Sweden and FinCEAL+ LAC, supported by Ministry of Education and Culture of Finland, Embassy of Peru and Embassy of Colombia in Sweden. 9. FinCEAL+ LAC organized a Finnish delegation to participate in FAUBAI 2016 conference in Fortaleza, Brazil, 16-20 April
The Brazilian Association for International Education (FAUBAI) organizes a yearly conference which is the most important event on Internationalization of Higher Education in Brazil. FinCEAL+ supported the participation of a Finnish delegation to the conference, that offered excellent networking opportunities. Read more about the experience in our next Newsletter!
10. FinCEAL+ Asia attended the ASEAN-EU STI Days in Hanoi, Vietnam, 10-12 May 2016
FinCEAL+ delegation attended the ASEAN-EU STI Days and the "Showcase of ASEAN-EU Research & Innovation Co-operation" exhibition in the framework of the STI Days 2016 with Tekes BEAM, Vietnam-Finland Innovation Partnership Program and the Finnish Water Forum.
