Are you new to First Christian? Would you like to know more? If you're just getting started, we suggest attending “New Beginnings” May 15 from 11:30-1:30. We’ll gather after church for lunch and conversation in a small group. Designed especially for visitors and new members of our congregation, “New Beginnings” will help you learn more about who we are. Surf's up July 11-15 2016! You won't want to miss this exciting week of Bible stories, games, drama, music and more each day from 9:00-12:00! On Friday we will invite parents to join us at 11:30 am to share all we learned. There is no cost to register, so make plans now to join us this summer for VBS! Register completed 3K - completed 5th grade before June 26 to receive a t-shirt here or pick up a registration form from the church office today! |

Breakout Birmingham

Join us for an end of school party and study break! Meet at Breakout Birmingham at 1:00 pm. Make sure you fill out this wavier and bring it with you. You must sign up by May 10. Cost $10.

Regional Church Camp
Now is the time to sign up for church camp. Traditional camping experiences are available for kids from kindergarten to twelfth grade at Camp Chandler in Wetumpka this June. Registration information is available at alnwfldisciples.org or in the church office. Contact Robin Blakemore for more information.

Dear Church Family,
We are winding down this school year. It has been a fast, fun, and fantastic school year. We have 52 of the best children around enrolled! We are so blessed to have such great students and parents!
We had our annual music and art show on Thursday, April 28. Thanks to all our families and friends who attended. A great big thank you to Troy for playing the guitar and also welcoming our guests. Thank you also to Sylvia Almond for serving the refreshments for us!
In a previous conversation with Sylvia, I had mentioned that we sure would enjoy these pretty spring days more if we had some picnic tables on the patio. Next thing I know, someone had placed an order and they were delivered! They are so nice and have an umbrella on each one! These are greatly appreciated and will be used a lot. Thank you for your donation!

CAMP HIGH HOPES
SATURDAY, MAY 21
It is just a short time until Camp High Hopes. This camp is an FCC tradition carried on for over 25 years, serving intellectually challenged adults from surrounding areas. We provide interaction with the campers through one-on-one experiences, sharing fun activities, food, and Christian fellowship.
The camp will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 21st and will end around 5:30 p.m. We will have a full day of activities (fishing, canoes, crafts, music, magic, bingo, swimming, and lots of laughing). We will have our Camp High Hopes live band, playing rockin’ dance music at 2:30 and we will end with a finger-lickin’ cookout.
We will need a crew of counselors to check-in campers, to chaperone the dance, ensure a good time is had by all and to help everyone keep safe.
Please consider Camp High Hopes as your opportunity for personal outreach.

OFFICE HOURS
The church office is open 9 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Thursday. The office will be closed on Fridays. If you need to reach a pastor while the office is closed, please dial 205-295-6708 to reach the minister on call.

Update from the Finance Council
To fully fund our programs and ministries in 2016, we will need $418,000 in offerings for the year. This is approximately 5% more than we received in offerings in 2015, a goal we believe our congregation is more than capable of meeting. Here is a brief update on how we are doing so far:

Budgeted Offerings: 34,833.33
Other Income: 4,464.23
Expenses: 30,324.02
Net Income: 5,401.12
Net Income YTD: 15,740.18
