Thriller Flashmob in Jane Warner Plaza
Letter from the E.D.

The Castro & Upper Market is increasingly becoming a walking and biking district. It is so great to see so many people enjoying the neighborhood. SFMTA's pedestrian safety improvements underway on Market St. are welcome and will certainly add to the walkability of the district. The Myriad, the new market hall concept at 2175 Market, is filling up with interesting vendors. Check it out and enjoy their colorful benches as you snack on a delight you bought inside!

The building at Sanchez and Market, The Duboce, is slated to be complete towards mid-September.

The Castro Ambassador season begins on May 15th and the CBD's volunteers will once again be out welcoming visitors from around the world. In fact, if you like to meet new people, help visitors find their way and make new friends, let me know, email me at andrea@castrocbd.org

Finally, since it's May, you are all probably wondering what is happening for Pride. Pride will go on as always, go to http://www.sfpride.org/faq/ for details. But, as you know, Pink Saturday has been canceled and the streets in the Castro will remain open on Saturday June 25th. You will soon notice media coverage with this message. The City Departments and community organizations are working to ensure this transition year goes as smooth as possible.

Are you interested in helping to improve your neighborhood? The Castro Community Benefit District is always looking for volunteers to help with a variety of projects. Give me a call at 415-500-1181 or email me at andrea@castrocbd.org

I can't wait to see you all out and about in the Castro & Upper Market, stop me and say hi!

Our Annual Report is now available online.  This year, we decided to try something new. We decided to turn our annual report into a fundraiser for Castro Cares, the non-profit program we oversee that’s tackling homelessness and quality of life issues. The result is this special edition, sponsored report.
