Join us for a special Friday - with the Beehive Design Collective! There will be two short presentations given throughout the night to walk you through two of the large-scale, intricately hand-drawn, pen and ink stories about large global issues: 6:30 - Mesoamerica Resiste and 7:15 - The True Cost of Coal. The Beehive Design Collective graphics will be displayed at Franny Lou's Porch throughout the month of May.

Monday, 5/9 Traditional West African Drum and Dance Classes! 6 - 8 PM
Join us for all new classes hosted at Franny Lou's! Our first class is Monday. From 6-7pm we will host a West African drum class with Jay Beck, and from 7-8pm we will host a West African dance class with Blew Kind! $10 each. Some drums provided, but bring your own if you have one... beginners welcome, no experience necessary. Drummers from the first class stay and drum for the dance class.

Develop your knowledge of the urban forest ecosystem in the last of this 3-part, hands-on training series. This week will demonstrate ways to site and maintain trails to protect from storm damage and limit erosion, lead by Sean Duffy, the Facilities Manager. Through hands-on session you’ll build the skills to conserve the urban forest, blaze sustainable trails, highlight natural features, and enhance experiences in the natural world. $15, RSVP here. Saturday, 5/7 Love Your Park Week Begins All Day
Join for a week of cleaning, greening, and celebrating Philly parks! Over 100 neighborhood Park Friends Groups will participate in the citywide Kickoff Service Day on May 7 and host dozens of fun and exciting events and activities throughout the week. More here.
