Paint Your Customer Portrait
I'm sure we've all seen this famous self-portrait painting by Norman Rockwell:
The outward-facing goal of any portrait, of course, is that people will accurately envision what you look like.
We need to do that with our ideal customers. Paint the picture of exactly who we serve, so that WE can target our efforts, and so that OTHERS can accurately refer us to those clients.
That's what this fresh blog post on LinkedIn Pulse discusses: Show Me Your Customer Portrait (and I'll Show You Mine). This post actually contains a very accurate and updated "portrait" of yours truly, with 6 key words surrounding my head.....you'll want to sketch out those six things describing your customers so that you have an accurate portrait.
I've been having a lot of fun on my Facebook page lately the past few weeks playing a game of "What is it?" - I upload a somewhat obscure section of a photo I've taken and people try to guess what the big picture actually is.
We don't want to play that game with people who can refer business to us! Nothing obscure or abstract - describe for us exactly what your ideal customer looks like. Then we can know how to refer you!
Clearly yours,
