FREE OUTDOOR STAGE: The EXPÉRIENCE Series
|
|
MUTEK returns to the Parterre of the Quartier des spectacles from Thursday to Saturday! The park is all ages and free from 5PM until 11PM (from 3PM on Saturday), with a bar, food trucks and chillout furniture on site.

MUTEK has teamed up with the Festival TransAmériques to present FAKE_ELECTRONICS with VJ EWERX and COP CAR BONFIRE.
On Sunday, MUTEK returns to the Parc Jean-Drapeau for a Piknic Électronik under the monumental Calder sculpture. The lineup will be revealed during their launch on May 10!
Additionally, on Sunday afternoon, MUTEK welcomes Boiler Room who are curating the very first in a series of audiovisual oriented events in Canada with a free lineup of musicians and VJs in the dome at the Society for Arts and Technology (SAT). More details about this special project coming soon!

VR SALON #2: Virtual Reality Symposium and Exhibition
|
|
On Monday, May 30 and Tuesday, May 31 MUTEK dives into the second edition of its VR Salon and kicks off an exhibition of more than twenty immersive works and interactive experiences. Developed together with VR Valley Network Montréal and presented at and in collaboration with the Phi Centre, the symposium focuses on creative applications of VR in culture, media and entertainment. Over 20 speakers – half of them international – will shed light on their innovative projects in the arts, cinema, documentary, journalism, theatre and video games.

DIGI_SECTION: Artist Q&As, Panels, Workshops and Showrooms
|
|
Geared towards curious explorers, music enthusiasts, and creative professionals, this component of the festival furthers critical discourse through thoughtful, intimate interviews with artists and creators, hands-on interaction with the latest technologies, workshops dedicated to visual software and practices, industry insights and presentations, and by creating opportunities for the community at large to network and converse.

NEW NAMES ADDED TO THE PAID PROGRAM

All joining the black box sound studio that is the Salle BWR in the basement of the MAC, the festival welcomes the singing circuits and feedback of CHRISTIAN CARRIÈRE’S no-input mixer compositions, the mellow tech house of DULL, the emotive ambient works of Arcade Fire member JEREMY GARA, local luminary OHM HOURANI with singer DO MI unfolds his long form trippy, melodic house, delicate machine songs by PARAPHONIQUE and HERMAN KOLGEN will present another iteration of his Seismik project.

MUTEK JAPAN: Launch of MUTEK in Tokyo
|
|
MUTEK expands its activities across the globe with the launch of MUTEK in Japan, running from November 2 to 4 at various venues in the heart of Tokyo. Expect the same attention to quality presentations of contemporary electronic and digital artistry with an emphasis on mixing Japanese, Canadian and international talent.
