Welcome Home Dear Sir
It’s been a while old mate. Your journey has been long and your masters many. It’s time to kick off your weathered boots and rest your weary head. You’re home now Sir.
The Sir Roden Cutler Shield took its rightful place back in the myrtle arms of the Randwick Rugby Club over the weekend for the first time since 2010. The win over Wests Harbour saw us take over the reins of the shield – a club challenge trophy that is held by the first grade side and only defended on home soil.
Sir Roden Cutler (24th May 1916 – 22nd February 2002) was one of Australia’s most renowned and accomplished military officers who was awarded the Victoria Cross in World War II for his efforts fighting the pro-Nazi Vichy French forces in Syria in 1941. Cutler remains the longest serving patron of the NSW Rugby Union.
The acquiring of the Sir Roden Cutler Shield validated the efforts of just one grade, first grade, where as the true strength of the Club was best seen over the weekend through the winning of all eight matches and the elevation to the summit of the Club Championships.
The weekend also provided a great opportunity to integrate a couple of new players into the first grade arena including eighteen year old Harrison Chapman and Newcastle-based Andrew Tuala.
Finally, a special mention to Will Munro who played his 50th First Grade game for the mighty Galloping Greens.

Milestones:
Congratulations go to Will Munro on achieving 50 First Grade games for the Galloping Greens. Also to Andrew Tuala and Harry Chapman who made their First Grade debuts, Andrew starting and Harry (up from Colts) off the bench. Congratulations boys!
On the point scoring front...
Tom Hiddleston reached 522 career points on Saturday at Concord Oval. Andrew Deegan made 101 career points and 56 season points whilst Nic Andrews reached 50 career points for the Club.
Not to be forgotten, back at Coogee in Colts, Patrick Pelligrini reached 105 career points.
Special mention of Andy Ball who gets a wrap for his efforts as a sub last Saturday. Andy follows in the fine tradition set by Tony McCarthy who started the day in 5ths and then went on as an injury sub in all other grades that day. Does anyone recall the year?

Club Captain's Report ....
Great effort across the board on Saturday as the Club managed to record another clean sweep with all grade and colts teams registering wins against Wests at Concord Oval.
Fourth grade got things underway with a convincing 36-13 win over the Pirates which was aided in no small way by Jack Musgrove who crossed the line twice, before third grade ran away with the game at the back end to rack up a 45-7 score on the back of big performances by Dave Green, Ryan Powter and Sam Connor.
