Gymfest 2016 Hailed A Resounding Success
The 12th and final Gymfest to be held at the Magnum Leisure Centre in Irvine has been hailed a resounding success. Over 1500 gymnasts from the UK and Ireland descended on the North Ayrshire coastal town during the May bank holiday weekend to attend the showpiece display event in the Scottish Gymnastics calendar. Gymnasts of all ages and abilities performed displays comprising of an eclectic array of themes, costumes and soundtracks in front of over 3,500 spectators, the largest ever Gymfest audience figure.

Double Team Gold at Artistic Celtic Cup
The battle of the Celtic nations was held in Douglas, Isle of Man, on Saturday 23rd April 2016. Hot on the heels of Scottish domination at the Acrobatic Celtic Cup just one week prior, our artistic gymnasts were aiming to bring home yet more silverware, and they didn't leave disappointed. Returning across the water was a medal haul including team gold for both the women's artistic minor and junior teams, and team silver for the men's artistic minor gymnasts.

Scotland Retain Acrobatic Celtic Cup
Team Scotland gymnasts and officials returned successful from the 2016 Acrobatic Celtic Cup, winning the trophy for the 4th consecutive year. A 47 strong team travelled to the University of Ulster for the event on Saturday 16th April, aiming to see off competition from Wales, Ireland and host nation Northern Ireland. As well as claiming the overall 2016 title, Scottish gymnasts also topped the podium in every category entered.

Spartan Resurrection Stars of Britain's Got Talent
If you were watching ITV show Britain's Got Talent on Saturday evening you might have noticed some familiar faces. A group of gymnasts from Dunfermline based display team 'The Spartans' auditioned in front of Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, David Walliams and Alesha Dixon as 'Spartan Resurrection'.

Cham Wins Bronze in Portugal
Over 200 competitors battled it out in Porto's annual team competition on 30th Apr-1st May. Scotland was represented in the MAG competition by Kelvin Cham, David Weir, Pavel Karnejenko & Joshua Lincoln who all competed as individuals in the junior category. Highest scoring Scot Kelvin Cham secured the bronze all-around medal behind gymnasts from Spain and France. |

British Silver All-Around For Purvis
In front of a sold out crowd at the Echo Arena in Liverpool on Saturday 8th April, Daniel Purvis was crowned silver all-around medalist at the 2016 British Artistic Championships. Going in to the weekend as reigning All-Around Champion, and with European and Olympic selection looming, Dan exhumed confidence on all six pieces of apparatus.
