CDA Herts Rural Affordable Housing Update
A Housing Needs Survey (HNS) for the Parish of St Paul's Walden in N Herts was completed in March. An excellent response saw 191 Questionnaires returned (35%) and a need for 7 new Affordable Homes identified.
Our next HNS will be undertaken in the E Herts Parish of Walkern where the results will contribute to the Walkern Neighbourhood Plan.
Following that we hope to be working with Ickleford Parish Council.

2016
EXCELLENCE IN VOLUNTEER MANAGEMENT AWARDS
Now in its 8th Year, this award is very special as nominations can only be made by volunteers. The idea is to champion organisations who demonstrate quality in their volunteer management.
Funding is available for rural initiatives that benefit communities, such as projects involving village shops, pubs and the delivery of other important services.
Established by Prince Charles in 2010, the fund aims to improve the prospects of rural businesses and the quality of rural life.
Applications are being sought to support activity that results in a long-term positive impact on rural communities by helping the people that live and work in the countryside.

Bright Green Future
Young recruits are needed
for the energy training programme.
CSE is embarking on a five year Big Lottery funded project to empower young people to become environmental decision makers of the future.
The participants, aged between 15 and 19, will take part in activities over two years such as:
• A work placement with an influential organisation working in the energy sector
• Practical energy projects which make real savings to local people in their area
• Free training courses from CSE and other relevant bodies
• A four-day residential summer school to meet and work with other participants
We’re recruiting young people now to join the programme this coming September.
The 2016-17 programme is now open for applications. This scheme is funded by Hertfordshire County Council and managed by HCF Training and Development.
Voluntary and community organisations delivering adult social care can apply for up to £2,000 to fund the learning and development needs of their workforce or to develop their own capacity to deliver training.

They offer expert advice on the availability of funding that could enhance provision for sport, PE and physical activity in your club or organisation.
