Mother & Other’s Tea
(Sisters, Daughters, Friends)
Saturday, May 21
|
|
|
Please join us for a festive afternoon on Saturday, May 21 from 2-4pm in our the fellowship hall. Women of all ages are invited to participate. Join in a wonderful afternoon of tea plus goodies. $5/person. Tickets will be available in April. Please bring a teacup from home to use and share why it is significant to us. If you have a tea pot or tea set, as well, we would love to display it that afternoon. Let Ginny Devereaux (803-699-2598) know if you can help with this. Also, take part in bringing in your wedding picture to put into a Bride’s Gallery to share that day. We truly have brides of all ages and it is always fun to see and share. More so...Do you have your wedding gown from that day? Can you wear it, or let someone borrow it to model it that afternoon??? The oldest one we know about comes from 1956!!! Can you beat that? Please let Adele Lindberg (803-736-1359) know if you are willing to help in these ways. Any question may be directed to Alice Renaud (803-699-8995)

God's Storehouse
Raise the Roof Update
We are very close to our goal! You have generously donated $710 toward our goal of $1,000 which is one of our Operation Inasmuch projects. It will take just 29 more hands to reach our goal – we can do it! The project was supposed to end 4/24, but we are so close! The ultimate goal of God’s Storehouse is $50,000 – let’s try to help them out in their effort to replace their roof. The hand shingles are available – please see Lisa or contact Karen Kranz.

Lessons for Sunday, May 8
First Reading: Acts 16:16-34
The owners of a slave-girl who used her powers to tell fortunes threw Paul and Silas into jail for “healing” her and, consequently, ruining their business. In prison, Paul and Silas bring the good news of the gospel to the jailer and his family.
Psalm 97
Rejoice in the Lord, you righteous. (Ps. 97:12)
Second Reading: Revelation 22:12-14, 16-17, 20-21
The ascended Christ, hidden from our sight, promises to come again. We eagerly pray, “Come, Lord Jesus,” with all who respond to this invitation.
Gospel: John 17:20-26
Jesus prays that the life of his followers will be characterized by an intimate unity of identity with God. To be so identified with God means also to share in God’s mission: to proclaim the word that will bring others into this same unity.
