IDA THE INCREDIBLE

You've seen the now iconic video of her world-record setting 100-meter dash everywhere, and now we're talking to the woman at the center of all the attention to let her tell you herself how she's Growing Bolder. She stands just 4 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs just 83 pounds, but Ida is a true heavyweight. On her tiny shoulders, the 100-year-old fitness fanatic is carrying all the possibilities of what we're capable of as we age. Ida recently captured the attention and adoration of the world when she set a new world record at the famed Penn Relays in Philadelphia. Fresh on the heels of her world record, Ida called in to the Growing Bolder Radio Show to share her secrets of longevity. And if you think you're old just because you're 50 or older, Ida has some tough love for you!

This Sunday is Mother's Day, a day to honor and celebrate all the mothers in your life, including the ones who gave birth to you, the ones who raised you and the ones who've given you unconditional love and support, whether they're related or not. Below are some of our favorite Growing Bolder stories celebrating a mother's love and the examples they can set for us all. And to all the mothers out there, we wish you a happy Mother's Day!
When was the last time you took a road trip with your mom? Here's proof those trips don't have to be a childhood memory. Click here to see what happened when a 96-year-old woman and her 70-year-old daughter traveled thousands of miles to compete in a swim meet!
After raising two children, Rose Ann DeVito discovered she had a big, empty home and a lot of love still left to give. We introduce you to the hectic and happy life of a 65-year-old “new” mom who fought hard to keep four siblings in the foster care system together forever.
You don't have to be a mother to love and care for the people around you. You do need strength, patience and a loving heart. Peggy Smith has all three in spades. Click here to meet Peggy and the volunteers who help families in crisis feel like they're at home.
We asked our Team GB Elite bloggers to reflect on Mother's Day, and their posts are funny, sad and thought-provoking. Click here to read their reflections on their own mothers or being mothers themselves.
