This year, Minnesota Interfaith Power & Light has partnered with Prospect Park United Methodist Church to present All in the Circle Creative Arts & Nature Camp for youth grades 1 through 8.
All in the Circle is carefully designed to give children the opportunity to fall in love with the earth and to be co-creators of a culture of kindness. Informed by the wisdom, teachings and experience of educators, spiritual leaders, and developmental psychologists, children gain the skills and “know-how” to live peacefully with each other and the natural world.
Registration for the camp is open and August is just around the corner! We encourage you to spread the word to the children in your life, whether it be your own, a family member's, a friend's, etc.
Registration deadline is July 15th.

In the afterglow of Pentecost I am so very conscious of birds. On our way to Kansas for my mother’s memorial service, I’m standing in a Culver’s parking lot...watching birds silhouetted against the sky. I’m thinking, “Do these birds carry a message from the Spirit?” I remember Tim Eberhart reminding us so recently of John Wesley’s conviction that nature itself is a second scripture, to be observed, learned and followed well. “I’m listening,” I whisper to the Spirit birds, “I’m watching.” And down they spiral – beautifully, effortlessly, gracefully – onto a trash dumpster. They peck and poke and carry away nasty morsels of garbage like treasures. Of course. Thank you for the message. Carrion eaters do Spirit work, too.
Memo to me: Remove what is rotten. Take out the garbage. Let what is used up go. Find life in the compost heap, in the baby bellies of the birds’ nests; in your own heart. Then back on the road...and...
Ah, there it is. The red winged blackbird soaring from the cane break in the ditch – a winged amen.

Recognize this Blue jay? This puppet, featured earlier in this issue in conjunction with the information about All In the Circle Camp, lives at In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre in Minneapolis. This particular blue jay sighting was at the annual May Day Parade, which took place on May 1st on Bloomington Avenue and Powderhorn Park in Minneapolis.

Pratt Ice Cream Social Fundraiser

Pratt School and Tower Hill Park
Join Pratt School and members of Prospect Park neighborhood for the annual ice cream social event! In addition to ice cream there will be games, live music, a plant sale, and much more! Funds raised will go to Pratt School. It is also the one day of the year that the Witch's Hat Tower is open to the public, so make sure you don't miss it!

Don't forget: the final concert in the Community Concert Series is coming up this weekend! Featuring original eclectic jazz and creative pop covers, Fuzzy Math Jazz Ensemble will be performing this Saturday, May 21st, 7:00pm at PPUMC. Included on the Best of MN list for "best jazz act for people bored with jazz", Fuzzy Math will ring out the series in style!
The concert is free and open to all!
A free will offering will be taken to benefit Breaking Free, a local nonprofit helping women escape systems of sexual exploitation. Click here to learn more about Breaking Free.

Though the Community Concert Series is soon coming to a close, the music does not stop there! On June 30 PPUMC will be hosting the Cantabile Chamber Chorale for a night of beautiful choral music composed by the likes of Felix Mendelssohn, Emma Lou Diemer and more.
