Mother's Day is THIS SUNDAY! Did you know that Mother's Day is typically the 3rd largest attended day of the year in churches? Christmas and Easter are the first two. Why not plan a "family reunion" for Mother's Day? Get everybody together. Come to worship!
Sunday May 15 is Pastor Paul Caseman's last Sunday with us! He plans to do a better job at retiring this time and tells us that he thinks this time it will stick! Please take the OPPORTUNITY to express your appreciation to Pastor Paul! There will be a reception for Paul after the 8:15 worship and at 10:30, between the other worship services.

Western Jurisdictional Conference needs volunteers! Every four years, elected and appointed United Methodists from around the western US gather to provide leadership and elect the next bishop in the west. This year, our conference, the Desert Southwest, will be host. The conference will be held July 13-16 in Scottsdale. Find out about volunteering here!

9:30am Traditional Worship is moving to the chapel for the summer! The first Sunday for this change will be May 22. Our chapel is an intimate worship space with beautiful stained glass!

GINTER HOUSE BIBLE STUDY begins April 6 through May 18 at 6:30 pm. Join Seth and Kristin Ginter at their home (on the east side) for a video study about salvation and what we do with this gift. RSVP to Kristin. The study is for adults but kids are welcome to come.

United Methodist Men have their monthly breakfast and meeting this Saturday at 8am in Fellowship Hall! More info is here!

GENERAL CONFERENCE is the every four years global gathering of United Methodists! It is happening May 10-20 in Portland, Oregon. Marjie Hrabe is a delegate to General Conference, and lets keep her in our prayers. There will also be a discussion here at Catalina around some of the issues that will be considered at General Conference. Join Kirk Reed and Vicki Hadd-Wissler in H230 at 9:30am on May 15.

YOUTH NEWS!
 

YOUTH GROUP DOES NOT MEET for the next two weeks. This Sunday, May 8 is Mother's Day (as you all know by now), and we are planning to make Change the World Weekend (Saturday May 14) our youth event for that week. We will meet again May 22!

[SOME] YOUTH MISSIONS info is available! All info for our youth/young adult missions experience can be found here. We are trying something new this year: Sierra Service Project! We will be working at the San Diego location with mainly a refugee population. The dates for this trip are June 26 - July 2. Middle School Mission is June 7-10 and we are waiting on the brochures, but you can save the date! AND a video from last year's Middle School Mission is here!
Why not set up recurring giving to keep your contributions coming even when you are away? We are all busy and we will be away from worship from time to time. You can set up a regular schedule of giving so your contributions support God's work here at Catalina even when you can't be here! Info on how to set this up is here.
