19U Rep Tier 2/AA Team
Meet the Head Coach
Coach Miller returns to the Washington Wild 19U Rep team for his fourth season as the head coach of the nationally ranked Washington Wild 19U Rep Tier 2/AA team.

Born in Seattle, Coach Miller played Junior hockey for 5 years with the Northwest Americans in the WCJHL. Coach Miller’s international experience includes playing in the US, Canada, Germany and Italy.

In 9 years of coaching boys' Rep hockey at the Peewee, Bantam and Midget levels, Coach Miller steered teams to State, Districts, and Nationals. A USA Hockey Level 4 coach, Miller has served as an evaluator for Washington State and Pacific District camps. Before joining the WWFHA family, he served as head coach of the boys' 18U Washington Hornets.

Miller has also run hockey camps for the last 5 years and been a personal coach for the past 9 years specializing in improving skating edge-work, puck handling, and shot mechanics.

Meet Assistant Coach Hodson
Joining Coach Miller as a first-assistant coach is Blake Hodson who has playing hockey for 22 years. He grew up in Federal Way, WA and played youth hockey for Sno-King and the Little Caesars AAA Hockey Club in Michigan, which boasts 62 state championship tournaments and 14 national titles over its more than 45-year history.

Hodson was then recruited to play for the Cowichan Valley Capitals at the Junior A level until he was drafted to play at the Major Junior A level for the Winkler Flyers of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League and then the Spokane Chiefs of the Western Hockey League. He later skated in Ohio for the Toledo Walley of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL), the premier ‘AA’ hockey league and a stepping stone to the NHL. Coach Hodson has been coaching privately for 9 years, including for the Turcotte Stickhandling Camp and various spring teams.
Read more about Coach Hodson on the team's coaching staff page.

The Team
Players of the highest skill (AAA and AA levels) play for the 19U Rep Tier 2/AA team. Washington Wild players come from the Seattle and surrounding Washington state area (from Bellingham to Tacoma, and Bremerton to Richland, WA), as well as other Western states that do not have high level female ice hockey.
The 19U Rep Tier 2/AA team represents the only female US association that competes in the highly competitive Pacific Coast Amateur Hockey Association (PCAHA). The team plays in the female midget flight 1/A division, with home games in Bellingham, WA and away games in the lower mainland of BC.

During the season, this team competes in league games (30+ games) and various tournaments (6+) in the US and Canada as they vie for USA Hockey Pacific District and National Championship tournaments.  This team receives over 60 hours of on-ice practice from some of the top coaches in the area during the season, and 60-70 hours of off-ice conditioning directed by Engineered Sports. This team focuses on skill development and providing exposure to collegiate scouts.

Open tryouts for the 19U Rep Tier 2/AA will be held July 30 at 6:15 PM and July 31 at 8:45 AM. Watch for tryout registration soon.

19U Rep Tier 3/A Team
Meet the Coach
Coach Lisa McNeill returns to coach with WWFHA for her sixth year to lead the newly revamped 19U Rep Tier 3/A Team.

Coach McNeill was born in Evesham, England and has played nationally competitive inline hockey and adult recreational ice hockey out of California and Washington for more than 25 years. A Level 4 USA Hockey coach, she has been coaching for 14 years. Coach McNeill previously coached WWFHA’s 14U team and with the Seattle Women’s Hockey Club (SWHC).

The Team

The new team restructure includes a primary goal of developing players to achieve the highest skill (AAA and AA levels) for future selection by the 19U Rep Tier 2/AA team, or by a college non-varsity team in the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA). Emphasis will be on speed and puck movement, with attention to high level skill development, and increasingly complex team concepts. Beginners joining the association will not be placed on this team; they will instead be directed to WWFHA’s beginner program or private lessons before receiving placement on any team.

This team plays in the competitive Canadian PCAHA female midget division for the 2016 – 2017 season, skates in 30+ league games and various tournaments in the US and Canada. The players receive over 52 hours of on-ice practice and 52-60 hours of off-ice conditioning directed by Engineered Sports. The coaching staff and team offer a rigorous season of training, physical, mental and emotional preparation and competition to lay the groundwork for reaching the next level.

Open tryouts for the 19U Rep Tier 2/AA and Tier 3/A teams will be held July 30 at 6:15 PM and July 31 at 8:45 AM. Watch for tryout registration soon.

14U Rep Tier 2/AA Team
Meet the Coach
Coach John Nogatch will be the new head coach for the 14U Rep Tier 2/AA team, which won the prestigious 2016 PCAHA Bantam Female Division and the Surrey SuperHeart Tournament last season.  The team continues in the PCAHA female bantam division for the 2016 – 2017 season, attends the USA Hockey Pacific District Championship tournament, and vies for USA Hockey National Championship tournament.

Growing up in Redmond, WA, Coach Nogatch spent his minor hockey career from ages 5 to 14 with Sno-King Amateur Hockey Association. At the age of 15 he moved to Michigan to play Elite Midget AAA hockey and from there moved to Ontario for his Junior A career. His time in Juniors earned him a scholarship to Division I Lake Superior State University. After graduating, Nogatch moved on to coaching after returning to the Seattle area.

Coach Nogatch’s coaching career began with Sno-King where he worked to develop their PeeWee AA program; that team has since produced three WHL draft picks. From there, Nogatch moved on to the Tier 3 Junior A ranks, handling and developing a new organization. He successfully took the Vancouver organization to conference finals as well as sending two players to the NAHL--a huge feat for a new program. Coach Nogatch spent two years at the Junior level before returning to Seattle last November for work and back to minor hockey, working to revive the Everett Squirt AA program.

A USA Hockey Level 4 coach, Nogatch welcomes this opportunity and challenge, and he brings an up-tempo, high intensity philosophy to the ice. He plans to focus on speed, puck movement, high level skill development, and more complex team concepts.

The Team
The team offers 30+ PCAHA league games and several tournaments, along with 60+ hours of practice and off-ice training designed by Engineered Sports. The team also has the support of our pro-staff, including hockey conditioning, nutrition, well body image counseling, student counseling, foot/ankle care, college admissions and collegiate hockey process, and more.

The 14U Rep team offers a demanding season of training and competition specifically designed for both ‘AAA’ and ‘AA’ players preparing for the next level. The coaching staff training philosophy advances the growth of each player individually and the team collectively, while they aim to develop well-rounded student-athletes with creative, problem-solving and good decision making skills.

The team’s training environment improves skill level while promoting hockey-sense for each individual.  It also focuses on the physical, mental and emotional development of the Washington Wild student-athlete. The program affords the opportunity for girls to compete against their peers and assists them in preparing for collegiate competition and potential national team selection.
