I am pleased to announce that Yves Moreau and France Bourque-Moreau will be our featured teachers at the Lyrids Folk Dance Festival 2017, which will be held April 21-23, 2017. They will be teaching a program of Bulgarian and International dances. Registration will begin in January 2017. We are going to try extra hard keep the festival on April 21-23, as I know the change of date this year caused many of you to miss Lyrids Folk Dance Festival 2016. It was an amazing festival and you can view photos from the festival here.
Another event you might be interested in, is a new folk dance retreat being organized by Surrey International Folk Dancing Society. This retreat will be held on the weekend of Sept 30 to Oct 2, 2016 at Zajac Ranch in Mission, BC. The City of Surrey is generously sponsoring this retreat. Because this is the first retreat, we are urging anyone who is considering registering for the weekend to complete a questionnaire so that we can build a program that will be appropriate for the people who will be there! That is only a few days away, but this is not a commitment, just an expression of interest.
