The drinking water catchment for Sydney currently has 9 longwall coal mines, with several new mines and expansions proposed. A great many more of our nationally significant water resources are potentially threatened by coal and gas mining activities.
As part of the Lock the Gate Alliance we need people like you to come with us to talk to our local politicians and make sure they understand the risks. An advocacy package has been developed to help in our meetings with these political representatives.
Will you help? Will you make a telephone call and arrange a meeting with your local member?? Will you at least turn up on the day of the meeting to show your support for this campaign??
There is no time to waste. Every day more of our precious water resources are lost.
