1 Peter 4:8 (Amplified Bible)
"Above all, have fervent and unfailing love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins [it overlooks unkindness and unselfishly seeks the best for others]."
Fervent is the Greek word used to describe the taut [tight, firm, strong], stretched muscles of a runner winning a race. Tight and stretched all at the same time. We might call this "toned?" What does this say to us today? That real love, the type spoken of here and in 1 Corinthians 13:4-8, is a "trained" love, i.e., one that is learned through the long hard process of practice.
