Blackie and the Rodeo Kings
Friday 26th and Saturday 27th August

Blackie and the Rodeo Kings has organically evolved into one of the finest roots-oriented bands in North America. They have released eight CDs and gradually developed a feeling of brotherhood manifested in a sense of groove, a blend of melodic, rhythmic playing that is distinctive, mystical, energizing and constantly evocative. The sum is indeed greater than the parts – and the parts are as good as they can get. Blackie and the Rodeo Kings remains one of Canada’s greatest musical treasures.

Ten Strings And A Goatskin
Friday 26th and Saturday 27th August

Nominated for two 2014 Canadian Folk Music awards, Ten Strings And A Goat Skin is a young bilingual trad/folk/fusion trio celebrating the music of the Irish, Acadien, French & maritime cultures. Known for a rare musicality and for Integrating modern & world rhythms with traditional & original tunes, they create a fiery, contagious & unique sound that has them touring throughout Canada, the US and Europe.

Stephen Fearing
Saturday 27th August

Returning to our shores yet again Vancouver born singer songwriter Stephen Fearing returns to treat us all to his passionate, often self-deprecating, always intelligent observations of the small and large events in his life and ours. Shrewsbury Folk Festival recommends Stephen to you as an exceptional and much underrated singer. Catch his solo spot at the festival - you will not be disappointed!

Barnstar!
Sunday 28th August

Boston-based 'sideman supergroup' Barnstar! - Zachariah Hickman, Charlie Rose, Mark Erelli, Taylor and Jake Amerding - debuted in 2011 with C’mon! Last year, the band unleashed its sophomore record Sit Down! Get Up! Get Out!, a release that reveals its continuing fondness for the exclamation point, and for bluegrass-based, genre-bending music filled with jaw-dropping harmonising, emotive ensemble playing, and a raucous immediacy.

Richard Shindell
Sunday 28th August

Richard Shindell is widely regarded as one of the finest contemporary singer/songwriters around and a meticulous craftsman of intelligent and powerful songs.  An expatriate American living in Argentina, his songs cover a huge range of subjects from profound ballads through to light-hearted stories.  Seven studio albums, one live disc and a celebrated trio album with Dar Williams and Lucy Kaplansky (Cry Cry Cry) have given him a deserved reputation as a writer, singer and guitarist of the highest order.

Rosanne Cash with John Leventhal
Sunday 28th August

Rosanne Cash is a brilliant and influential American singer-songwriter and author. She is the eldest daughter of country music icon Johnny Cash and although Rosanne is often classified as a country artist, her music draws on many genres, including folk, pop, rock, blues, and most notably Americana.
