McDougal Minute

Back from Minneapolis and I can tell you because I saw it with my own eyes: Lily and Scott got married! I also saw a lot of glorious food and beer - all for prices that warmed my jaded Chicago heart. A big shout out to the AirBnb where Allyson and I stayed. It was a delightful little oasis and Rosie was a lovely host. This was my first AirBnb stay and I'm kicking myself that I wasn't brave enough to go for it before.

The MegaBus also was a bargain, but the 9 hour journey isn't exactly something I'd recommend unless you're traveling with a dear, dear friend who understands the value of good bus snacks. And even then, just prepare to be a little cranky and seriously consider visiting that massage place you've walked by in Lincoln Square...

Look What I I Made

Nothing makes a crafter prouder than maximizing your travel hours. So proud that you snap a few selfies with your gross bus hair. Here's what I accomplished:

A Pom Pom for my Blazonry!

A finished Dillinger!

An almost complete Bilbo Cardigan!

Royal Flush
One thing I haven't been doing a lot of this week is watching TV and movies. Instead, I've been reading a lot of internet. One corner of the web I wanted to shout out this week: The Fug Girls and their coverage of European Royalty. Though politically, I abhor the idea of a monarchy, I've been a full-on royal watcher since I studied abroad in Luxembourg. Within my first 48 hours in the Grand Duchy, I had been introduced to the Crown Prince at an event. The next day, I saw his face on a calendar for sale at the grocery. It was pretty surreal, but at that point, I was officially interested in these arcane people and their goings on. And the Fug Girls keep me posted - particularly every Friday with their weekly Royals Round-up.

I wanted to highlight last week's in particular because it's full of so much wonder (and Prince Harry - kind of the same thing, really).
