Funding Opportunity: Elder Justice Innovation Grants
The Administration for Community Living is awarding grants for projects that contribute to improvements in the field of elder abuse prevention. A total of $1,850,000 is available for up to four grants covering a period of 2 years. Funded projects must target one of the following priority areas: self-neglect, forensic centers, addressing abuse in guardianship, or addressing elder abuse in Indian Country.
Applications are due June 20, 2016.

This webinar will introduce you to a tribal nursing home collaborative and its work by reviewing the history, foods, ideas, programs, challenges, laws, and recommendations that have influenced and currently affect the preparation and serving of traditional foods in tribal nursing homes.
You will learn specific steps you can take to advocate for the use of traditional foods and traditional living in your program as a way to honor and respect elders.
Establish a resource center to assist tribes in addressing indigenous elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation
Identify and make available existing literature, resources, and tribal codes that address indigenous elder abuse
Develop and disseminate culturally appropriate and responsive resources for use by tribes, care providers, law enforcement, and other stakeholders
