National Shelter, Homelessness Australia and the Community Housing Industry Association have jointly written a letter encouraging supporters to join them in their Federal Election campaign.

The 2016 federal budget has ignored the homelessness and the housing crisis in Australia, and there is a federal election looming. If positive change is to be achieved, it is critical that the major parties bring housing and homelessness platforms to the electorate.

The best chance of achieving this outcome is for the many organisations in our sector that care passionately about these issues, to work together to deliver a single powerful campaign. There are a number of ways you can participate and a teleconference for everyone interested on Monday.
