Monday evening 23 May I will be leading an introduction to Wholebody Focusing at The (amazing and enduring - 42 years strong!) Relaxation Centre of Queensland in Alderley. Bookings through the Relaxation Centre website or office on 3856 3733 .
Also! Our last CHANGES Group for this semester is coming up on Sun arvo 5 June at the Quakers in Kelvin Grove. I plan to offer an exploration of the H.O.W. We Heal Community Wellness model of Focusing, as taught by Suzanne L. Noel, founder of Recovery Focusing. Entry by donation, all welcome.
On Easter Sunday I was blessed to be amongst the 16 musicians that launched the Piano Mill - a mind~eye~ear boggling structure in the bush outside Stanthorpe - with the premiere of composer Erik Griswold's piece 'All's Grist that Comes to the Mill'.
The realization of a dream by architect Bruce Wolfe, the Piano Mill is a copper-clad tower that houses 16 unrestored vintage pianos (2 pianos x 4 walls x 2 storeys, connected by a chute with ladder). The audience is situated outside and all around this mysterious new venue/instrument. Erik's piece is in turn mesmerising, mechanical, nostalgic and amusing.
To listen: click here (or go via the ABC Classic FM page here) .
To see: visit The Piano Mill on Facebook.
Recently I've been presenting at Fiona's Art with Heart 'My Time' morning art classes for women at Mt Gravatt East. I've been providing a body-centred 'warm-in' to the art making activities (so far, a short form of my Wholebody Wheel of Healing practice) and also playing music-to-make-art-by on the studio's resident piano. I will be presenting at 'My Time' again on Tuesday 24 May and Friday 17 June. Contact Fiona about 'My Time' casual or term attendance, or her holiday and afterschool workshops for children.
I have had poems to write and music to play this last fortnight, and while I have more to say about plans for Foundational and Advanced trainings in Wholebody Focusing, the deets are still forming! In the interim, please make contact if you'd like to discuss these - or other ways we might work together, including one-to-one guided Wholebody Focusing sessions in person or on Skype. With care, Lynette
