Don't miss out - What's in the Box Mystery Quilt 2016 ready!

GourmetQuilter News

I am still travelling as I write this!

Having had such a great time in Paducah, KY, USA, the good times have just continued! I met up with a lady who is participating in the Block of the Day 2016, That Town & Country Quilt, in Missouri, who was kind enough to take me in and also to take me to Quilt Camp that she was attending at that time as her "show and tell"!! and then I was able to stay at Quilt Camp, in Arrow Rock, Missouri, how exciting was that??!! I had rented a car In Paducah and have been driving ever since! I am currently in Utah, staying in a delightful place called Duck Creek Village. The scenery has been amazing and I have managed several essential stops at quilt shops along the way, of which there are quite a few! I will be in Salt Lake City for Quilt Market next week, then will fly home to New Zealand.

Here now:

The new "What's in the Box Mystery Quilt 2016" will be open for registration for the month of May, so you can sign up during May, the Box mail out will be in June and solving the mystery quilt during July, the mysterious fun is about to start again!.Don't miss out, it is so much fun!

The Block of the Month, Great Foundations, is on to Block 3 now! There is a video tutorial and pattern available - see below for more information.

The Block of the Day 2016, That Town and Country Quilt, is going well, it isn't too late to join in! Many are excitedly preparing, cutting, fusing and stitching and showing us their blocks on the Facebook Group page (specific Town & Country Quilt Community page), it is very exciting for me to see the response!

Coming soon:
There are more projects preparing themselves for this year and I will be able to let you know more soon, just finalizing some of the details, but they will include a new subscription to a "Snack Box" which will be a monthly mail out - more info soon.

This is keeping me well and truly occupied, as well as the travel I am doing.

Welcome to those of you who have just signed up to receive this newsletter, it is great to have you.

The video tutorials will be posted on my blog or can be viewed on my YouTube Channel. Thank you so much for enjoying these and some of you are leaving wonderful comments which encourage me to do more!

This project pattern is now available on the website here.

It isn't too late! You can still join in the fun!

There is a one-off registration fee and the project started at the beginning of January 2016. The pattern is available in weekly installments as downloadable patterns, so you can participate from anywhere in the world. The pattern consists of 365 x 4" fused applique blocks, plus borders, the method I have used is fused, raw-edge, free-motion stitched applique.

For those who are on Facebook, and participating in the Block of the Day 2016, there is a group page where we can discus things to do with the quilt; That Town & Country Quilt Community, which is gathering momentum already!

There are shops participating and offering fabrics, classes and clubs for the Block of the Day 2016, more information here.

Delicious Hoffman Bali Batiks have been used for the fabrics along with with Aurifil threads for the applique and also some hand embroidered embellishment.

What is GourmetQuilter up to now?

Having a very exciting time in USA!
I have been driving across from Kentucky to Utah, visiting lots of interesting places along the way! This is the cabin I stayed in during my time at Duck creek Village, Utah. The scenery has been magnificent.

I called into a supermarket somewhere along the way and loved the vegetable display - it looked good enough to eat!!
