Welcome to our third edition - coming to you with news, updates, fresh features and our best wishes for the busy spring period!

GLOMUS Camp 2017: taking shape


We have now received the institutional registrations and can already announce that GLOMUS Camp 2017 will be the biggest on record!

The institutions are currently in the process of nominating individual participants - link to the registration form will be soon sent to the institutional coordinators. The registration deadline is June 17.


But in the meantime you can find out which institutions will be represented!

GLOMUS spirit at Nordtrad

GLOMAS students were among the nearly 150 folk musicians from 17 Nordic-Baltic institutions participating at Nordtrad 2016, this year taking place in Viljandi, Estonia.

Similarly to GLOMUS Camps, the days were filled with workshops, ensembles and music making from dusk till dawn. As GLOMAS student and GLOMUS Camper Megan Stubbs says: "it was a warm, welcoming environment where everyone taught and everyone learned; these kinds of experiences are unforgettable and exactly the kind of thing the world needs."

Music teacher education across borders


Since 2013, the Nepal Music Center and the Sibelius Academy (Finland) have been co-developing music teacher education programmes and teacher trainers' training.

In addition to the collaborative developmental work on the music teacher education programmess both in Nepal and Finland, the cooperation enhances awareness and expertise of cultural diversity and the development of intercultural competences.

Musical visit to Palestine


In March, five students from RAMA, Denmark visited the Edward Said National Conservatory in Jerusalem.
The schedule for the week was wonderfully packed with trips to Ramallah and Bethlehem, rehearsals with the Palestinian students and concerts in both Jerusalem and Ramallah.

The visit was a part of the Merging Music Project funded by the Danish House in Palestine.

Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility: case Georgia

In 2015, Erasmus+ funding opened up for all GLOMUS member institutions for sending and receiving students and staff and exchanging ideas and best practice with the Programme Countries of the European Union.

What are the benefits of this initiative for a Partner Country? Find out through the experience of Tbilisi State Conservatoire who will also join GLOMUS Camp 2017!
