Message from Alumni and
Community Relations
It’s an exciting time on our Thunder Bay and Orillia campuses – we’re gearing up for our spring convocation ceremonies and the arrival of the families and friends of our graduating students.
In this issue, you will read about Lakehead Orillia Humanities 101 students who had a special graduation ceremony in April. Humanities 101 is an inspiring outreach program that introduces adult learners to postsecondary education.
Also featured in the May Ezine is a profile of internationally-recognized musician Jean-Paul DeRoover and an update about student-athlete Kevin Tree’s latest accomplishments in the world of cross-country running.

Congratulations to the Class of 2016!

The Music Man

You're seated in the audience.
Live, before your eyes, a song takes shape a piece at a time.
In just minutes, one man records each separate instrument, harmony, and sound effect in the song, then plays it all back to accompany him as he sings on stage.
You have just been treated to a Jean-Paul DeRoover performance.

A playful social media conversation with alum living in the UK turned into an organized meet-up event held at what else- an English pub in London!  The small group enjoyed some camaraderie, a care package from home, and memories to last a lifetime.  Check out the photo gallery.
