APRIL PEAK PERFORMER OF THE MONTH:
Megan Plain
Mendon Lax/Bball Player, U of V recruit
Before PT:
* Megan's left knee had twisted during a collision in lacrosse practice.
* She had a complex tear of the ligaments at her upper fibula (below her knee).
* After immobilization and PT, she eventually underwent surgery to stabilize the joint, needing yet another month of immobilization.
After PT:
* Is able to be active in sports especially play fully in Lacrosse!
* Pain free
Megan says: "Being consistent with my exercises along with having determination and perseverance helped me succeed. My ultimate goal is returning to play next year at U of Virginia and I never took my eye off of that. Mike is the only one I would have trusted to guide me through this. His innovative approach has been a key to my success. At this point I feel more like family than just a patient!”
Mike says: "Wow...What a picture of dedication and ‘never say die’ that Megan has shown. It’s been nearly an entire year of hard work, and 8 months of just post-op PT she’s stayed committed to. But she has shown the heart of a champion from the very start. This girl’s got true grit...she is relentless, focused, goal oriented and trusting in the process.
Megan, its so cool to see you back playing - congratulations!”
Each Peak Performer of the month gets to choose a charity off of our list for us to donate to that month. Megan chose " St. Jude's Hospital" Peak Performance is happy to donate this month on Megan's behalf.
