Don't Miss Bike to Work Day on May 20th!

Bike to Work Day offers the opportunity to try biking to work through special events and MeetUp rides countywide

San Luis Obispo, Calif. – May 16, 2016 – Join SLO County’s largest bicycling celebration — Bike to Work Day — on Friday, May 20. With MeetUp rides happening throughout the region and over a dozen Bike Breakfast Stations spread across the county, there is no reason to miss out on the fun. Presented by SLO Regional Rideshare, a program of the San Luis Obispo Council of Governments (SLOCOG), Bike to Work Day encourages local residents to try commuting on two wheels for the first time and celebrates those who bike to work regularly. Complete event information is available at rideshare.org/bike-to-work-day.

“This year we are introducing organized rides so first-time bike commuters can join frequent riders on their way to work,” said Stephanie Hicks, Rideshare Program Manager. “This year’s Bike to Work Day is full of so many opportunities to turn a normal Friday into a celebration on two wheels.”

Over a dozen morning events, MeetUp rides and an evening party will help the region celebrate. A list of Bike to Work Day MeetUp rides are below. More ride details are available at meetup.com/BiketoWorkDay. All MeetUps will pass by Bike Breakfast Stations. Bike Breakfast Stations will be open during morning commute hours ready to greet bicycle commuters with free beverages, snacks, a bike bag full of swag and encouragement. A complete list of Bike Breakfast Stations is available at rideshare.org/bike-to-work-day.
