Today we are proud to announce that reflecty has won an Honorary Mention in the u19 – CREATE YOUR WORLD category of the Prix Ars Electronica. This means that our project was selected as one of the best 15 entries in over 600 submissions. 

The Prix Ars Electronica is one of the most important yearly prizes in the field of electronic and interactive art, computer animation, digital culture and music. It has been awarded since 1987 by Ars Electronica (Linz, Austria). 

reflecty being awarded in such a high profile competition not only shows that our concept sparks interest and is regarded worth developing. But it also gives us a huge boost in confidence to continue improving our prototype. Let’s not forget that our main goal is to build an attractive product for real world application.

Knowing that our prototype is working and that it is award-worthy, we are now more than ready to move on to fine-tuning it. First of all, we are going to finish some still missing software modules, such as light control. Apart from that we are also working on streamlining reflecty’s hardware with a new gesture recognition sensor and a smaller computer.

Overall we are very happy about the positive vibe reflecty has received so far and we look forward to making the world a better place one swipe at a time.
