This year’s golf outing is on June 25th at Crickentree Golf Club in Columbia, South Carolina. All proceeds will benefit the Living Springs Mission Partnership Fund in Memory of Gary Shannon Long . Cost per player is $60.00 and includes a picnic dinner after the event. Donations are welcomed and will go 100% to the Mission Partnership Fund. You don’t have to be a golfer to participate. We need volunteers to help the day of the tournament with registration, raffle drawing, taking photos, and driving the refreshment cart. Anyone who would like to help obtain raffle prizes would be welcomed. Sign up at the table in the Administration Building. Contact Bill Franck, Mike Davidson, Jeff Day or Jim Zieche with any questions.

Lessons for Sunday, May 15
First Reading: Genesis 11:1-9
The builders of the tower of Babel try to make a name for themselves by building their tower to the heavens. God scatters them, confusing their language so that they cannot understand one another. The miracle at Pentecost reverses this story, drawing many different peoples together into the new people of God.
Psalm 104:24-34, 35b
Send forth your Spirit and renew the face of the earth. (Ps. 104:30)
Second Reading: Acts 2:1-21
Before Jesus ascended into heaven, he told his disciples they would be filled with the Holy Spirit. Now, surrounded by signs of fire, wind, and a variety of languages in their midst, the people were amazed and astonished at Jesus’ promise coming true.
Gospel: John 14:8-27
Though the disciples struggle with Jesus’ nature and identity, they receive the promise that they too will be identified with God and God’s mission. Though he must leave them now, Jesus promises the coming of the Advocate whom God will send to comfort and enlighten them.

A pastor and his daughter.
A pastor's daughter was about three he got her ready for bed. He asked her what she would like to pray about. Promptly she answered: "onions." They prayed about onions and the next morning he asked why she wanted to pray about onions. "Because you said in your sermon that we should pray for things we dont like."
