Pentecost!
If someone asked you what God is like, what would you say?  I would probably respond with what seems to be a main theme of the Old Testament, "The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love."  In Thursday morning men's study, we just finished the book of Jonah where Jonah says these very words to describe God.  This description of God is repeated several times throughout the Old Testament and is further embodied in the person of Jesus Christ.  And further, God gives us the gift of the Holy Spirit (this coming Sunday Celebration!)  The Holy Spirit bears witness to the great grace, compassion, and love of God.  As we look to Pentecost celebration, read the wonderful experience the early church had when the gift of the Holy Spirit came upon them (Acts 2).  Pastor Jacci Busch will be with us this coming Sunday to bring us a message from God's Word.

Shalom!
Pastor Mark

High Way Church Ministry Opportunity/Change
We have some summer news to pass on to all of you.  Beginning in June, High Way Church is celebrating an expansion of their ministry by moving to another location.  Pastor Steve has communicated clearly God's leading for them by opening an opportunity in a local school as a home base for ministry.  On May 29th, we will be celebrating what God has done among us through the partnership we have enjoyed for the past year.  Representatives from High Way will join us for worship to communicate God's love to us and thanks for a much needed 'sabbath' year for them.  Come and hear Pastor Steve share how God has lead High Way Church to launch into their new ministry space for reasons of calling, identity, and for expansion of their ministry.  We will be having representatives from Crestview as well attend High Way's worship service to bless High Way Church in this new chapter.

We have been blessed to be partners with High Way during this transition time in each of our ministries.  We have grown and been stretched as we both have worked together to share space and time together.  We are better for having been together.  High Way Church will continue to be engaged in worship practices and other various meetings in our church building.  May God's Kingdom grow as High Way and Crestview look to what is next.

Second Offering for Benevolence
This Sunday there will be a second collection for the Benevolence Fund.  This is a non-budgeted fund used for helping a family or an individual during a time of crises and when all other possibilities of help have been exhausted.  A request for funds is granted with consideration to those who have a connection to the church or its members, and for helping those in the neighboring community to cover basic needs and costs that cannot be covered by government services.  It is disbursed at the careful discretion of the Deacons.

Teacher Needed for Summer Session Young Children's Worship (YCW)
We still need just one more volunteer teacher to fill out our summertime schedule for Young Children's Worship.  We have three of the four volunteers needed to teach YCW this summer (Praise God!).  Our volunteers need to teach only once per month during June, July and August.  This will offer some R&R for the folks who so lovingly give themselves to the little ones during the school year.  Contact Jackie & Ruth at children@crestviewchurch.org if interested.

Tulip Time in Holland & Boulder
This week in Holland MI is a festival called Tulip Time where they estimate 500,000 people come from 40 different countries for the week long celebration.  Parades everyday, school is half days, and people eat lots of food.  Pile on two graduations and packing up a house and it's kinda a zoo 😬.  But we are still smiling 🙂.  At the same time, There are two pictures from Tulip Time in Boulder CO 😉, can you tell which ones?
