Hello, fellow journalers! How are things? What are you up to?
Over here at Adventures in Guided Journaling, I'm still experimenting with new journal formats, still working on the idea of journal pages as colouring pages -- or maybe it's colouring pages as journal pages.
In any event, while today's page was initially inspired by experimentation, it also includes a journaling tool that is tried and true: the list. You've got to love the list. So simple, quick, and unassuming. Just jot down your thoughts, in no particular order, and before you know it, you've got a collection of ideas you can work with. Lists are marvelous.
If you're familiar with my previous journals, you'll know that I usually keep lists to three items. Sometimes five. Today, however, let's take our lists a little further. Let's go for ten.

Why ten? Because a longer list gives you a substantial opportunity to stop and reflect. Once you get those first three, five or even seven items out of the way, you might have to dig a little deeper. Don't stop! Keep going all the way to ten. I think you'll be surprised by the potential for self-discovery in a simple list when you trust yourself to move beyond the easy and the obvious. (And hey, if you don't want to stop at ten, turn the page over and continue your list on the back. See how many items you can come up with. Who knows what direction your list will take!)
The prompt for today's page involves the present moment, which is always a great place to start. What do you have to say about this moment, right now? Use all of your senses. What are you seeing, hearing, touching, feeling? Let one thought lead to the next. What's important and noteworthy about this moment when you stop and really think about it?
If you find yourself hesitating, if you're not sure what to write or how to complete your list, there's no need to rush -- try shifting your focus to the colouring parts of the page until the next thought emerges.
There's just one more thing. If you enjoy today's page and would like to try a new list on a different subject, I've created an extra page just for you. There's a sneak peek in the top left corner of the photo above. Feel free to print the alternative page and choose your own topic.
You'll find both of today's pages right here.
Best wishes and happy journaling,
Christie
