MusicOntario Hosts "Opportunities Ontario" at CMW 2016 
MusicOntario hosted our first town hall meeting at CMW entitled "Opportunities Ontario" featuring Duncan McKie (FACTOR), Marina Adam (OMF), Erin Benjamin (Music Canada Live), Alka Sharma (Folk Music Ontario), Mike Tanner (City of Toronto) and many more representatives from Ontario's robust music industry. This is a great opportunity for local industry and artists to engage agents, managers, labels, sync & licensers, and other industry organizations to discuss local issues in the music scene, and learning about taking your music career to the next level.

New Report Demonstrates Economic Importance of Arts and Culture in Ontario
Statistics Canada has released the Provincial and Territorial Indicators, 2010 to 2014 report, May 11, 2016. The reports finds that Ontario represents 41% of the total GDP in Canada's arts, culture and heritage sector, bringing in $27.7 billion from the Ontario art, culture and heritage sector, which employs almost 302,000 people. Canadian Songwriter Challenge Open for Submissions for 2016!
The Canadian Songwriter Challenge is open for submissions from Ontario-based songwriters. The event will take place in Toronto, ON, in July 2016, and is a great opportunity for emerging songwriters to co-write with their peers and mentors, while learning about the business of songwriting.
