WE ARE IN PUPPY HEAVEN!
Exciting news! Lucy and Baby Bat both gave birth to puppies!

We have five new precious beings at Dragonfly. Each day is a new adventure: sucking earlobes, taking first steps, moving up to leaping, twirling, growling, wrestling—enthusiastically exploring puppyhood! If only we could bottle the puppy breath!

Lucy gave birth on April 6 just hours before I needed to leave for Sedona, AZ to be with my Orenda ohana (family) at the Leadership Retreat. We all had a blast exploring Sedona. Sarah Gatson, who used to live in Phoenix, shared with me the beautiful photo above. You can view more of her work on Instagram @kosmickulture.

BUCKHORN SPRINGS WOMEN’S RETREATS
I attended my 4th retreat at the Buckhorn Springs power spot in Ashland, Oregon. Dot Fisher-Smith, in her late 80's, attracts extraordinary women to attend the relaxing and exciting days that allow women to BE themselves and explore their personal power. Time spent at this mountain retreat is enlightening and filled with deep love and insights.  The “last” scheduled retreat for Buckhorn will be November 4th, 2016--for 5 days.
This is our dear Dot with her daughter, Brigid, who attended the April retreat.

Dragonfly will be hosting Dot’s following retreat in April 2017! I invite powerful, vulnerable, authentic women to join us. We will do 10 days (with shorter stays available) providing organic food from the garden that is tasty and fits the Clean Burn Shape program to cleanse the body of toxins. Those wishing to drop approximately 10 pounds and 5 or 10 inches may do so while learning how to create meals from the garden. We will be taking daily trips to the sea where dolphins love to swim beside respectful snorkelers. The price will be extremely reasonable. Let me know ASAP as space is limited.

The big thing I learned while at Buckhorn during the April retreat is the power of the pause—absorbing the epiphanies that women experienced at Buckhorn. I came to realize that silence and listening respectfully are SO important!

I also recognized that having always been a photographer and journalist, I am frequently the OBSERVER. It is my desire to BE more and comment less. Owning my name? B. Moore!

My dear friend Tashina shared the important thing she learned from reading Radical Remission--that LOVE is the great healer. She suggested that we hold and be held by one another for five powerful minutes of love. WOW! Try it…you might like it.

By the way, Tashina has a website and does color consulting to enhance beauty—as well as counseling to improve health. Tashina knows all the tricks to stay fit! When her health was challenged 7 years ago, she researched EVERYTHING. Now she is the picture of vitality.  http://colorharmonics.info.

CONNECTING MORE WITH PLANTS
One of our current volunteers and yoga teacher, Katya, from Slovenia, met a German teacher of biodynamic gardening when she was in Thailand. Elvira likes the idea of coming to Dragonfly to teach gardening! She arrives June 6. We will be offering training with her for those of you interested in gardening.

NEW APPROACH TO GARDEN USING VOICE
Opening up our happy voices while working in the garden (or anywhere doing anything) with the help of our sound healer, Angela, from Germany, is a fun new experience. She helped us create the "Singing Kitchen" video. Angela got us started with our Dragonfly Ranch youtube channel As you can see, we have fun at the Dragonfly.

Because of Angela, I found myself in the car, singing a creative song that made me laugh! Why not sing? Then…I was making up humorous opera in my sauna. What fun!

At Buckhorn Springs, Dot opened our retreat reading a poem that ended with: TURN ME INTO SONG: SING ME AWAKE

That’s what we are doing—singing ourselves awake.

SING ME AWAKE PLAYSHOP
Angela and Katya, combining voice and yoga, taught a “Sing Me Awake” Playshop on Mother's Day. By moving energy through your body - using the Sound of your own Voice and Yoga - Movement at the same time - healing happens in a very fast and gentle way. We had great fun - humming, singing and stretching our dreams into being!

Check out this story about a German forester who has a keen understanding of the tree society: http://www.nytimes.com/2016/01/30/world/europe/german-forest-ranger-finds-that-trees-have-social-networks-too.html?_r=0

When I was in the forest in Sedona, I observed and deeply felt the connections of the pine trees to one another.

Germans are really ON this. Hear this tree concert:

FINDHORN SPIN-OFF
When I visited Findhorn, I became fast friends with Annese Worth Giuntini. After reading her book, My Generation, including her rich experience in Findhorn in the ‘70’s, I realize that Peter Caddy inspired everyone he touched--greatly. I deeply appreciate his visits to the Dragonfly Ranch in the ‘80’s and would like to carry on the Findhorn torch here.

ORCHID COMMAND DREAM COMING TRUE
Finally, with the help of my wonderful team here, we have the perfect spot for growing orchids in the Illuminarium garden. Our star volunteer, Wim, from the Netherlands, created Koa wood swings in the monkeypod tree!

We are relating to the orchids in a high frequency way. The plan is to create orchid flower essences after dancing, singing, drumming, meditating, praying and walking the labyrinth with them.  We will create a Dragonfly Ranch orchid essence line! That "command dream" came to me 30 years ago. Good to see it finally happening now. Anyone want to come help us with the orchids?

PLANTS SING!
Tashina’s precious husband, Will Wilkerson, recently visited Damanhur, the amazing community in Northern Italy. (Dragonfly was blessed with a visit from the Damanhur top brass last December.)

In Damanhur, as I understand from Will, they have a way of connecting plants to a scientific device that allows them to SING!  I can imagine how grand it can be when more of us start relating to the plants and plant medicines--becoming more attuned to listening to the plants.

WELCOMING MORE VOLUNTEERS

Our 3 month program for volunteers has flourished by using the websites HelpX.net and WorkAway.info.  These websites have made it sustainable to keep an ongoing stream of high quality individuals flowing through the Dragonfly Ranch, not only enriching their lives but ours and our guests as well. Exploring ways of growing, it is fun to share new lifestyles, philosophy, humor, laughter, movement, dance, music, writing and acting, healing modalities and LOVE—the BIG healer with people from around the world. Very Exciting

We LOVE our team.  Angela, from Germany, Wim, from the Netherlands.

We appreciate our American team as well as our multi-national friends like Wim (Netherlands), Angela (Germany), Nicot (Madagascar), Emilie (France), Maya (Tahiti) Paula (Germany) etc--who are keen on living in an extraordinary international community of productive friends, sharing beauty, harmony and love for each other, our guests AND our gardens.

PHOENIX IS BACK!
Lucky us! We all love the way Phoenix makes us laugh heartily, creates yummy food and plays original music. Not everyone knows that over the past 15 years, Phoenix has built and repaired almost everything at the Dragonfly. His most recent project is replacing the 35-year-old deck of the Honeymoon Suite. I especially admire Phoenix’s uncommonly inventive architectural creativity!

DR. DANUTA HOYER SPEAKING MAY 21, 22

Our dear Chicago MD, Danuta Hoyer, will be speaking to healthcare professionals in Waikaloa on Sat. at 4:30 in the home of Dr. Laura Moire. “Giving the Gift of Good Health” is the theme of her talk. She has been successfully getting her patients back to their preferred weight and off of many medications. Her method? ORENDA products! On Sunday at 4:30, Danuta will be speaking at the Dragonfly about detoxing and weight loss. Come if you can join us! We are planning to share a pot luck meal of healthy organic vegetables.

Dr. Danuta Hoyer has come to visit her son, Raffi, who just celebrated his 23rd birthday with us here in Hawaii.

A YUMMY RECIPE FROM KATYA

Perfect desert for our Clean Burn Shape program!

BLACK BEAN BROWNIES - vegan, gluten free, sugar free

2 cups boiled black beans (rinsed and cooled off to room T)
3-4 tbsp cacao butter
3/4 cup cocoa powder (and nibs)
1/4 tsp sea salt
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup yakon syrup
1+1/2 baking powder (optional)
3 tbsp soaked chia

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 C)
2. Mix all the ingredients together in a food processor until the batter gets pretty smooth. It should be close to chocolate frosting consistency but nowhere close to runny. If too thick, add a small amount of water or vegan milk. If too runny, add a small amount of rice flour, quick oats, shredded coconut...
3. Optional addition for the batter or as a topping: hemp seeds, almonds, walnuts, hazelnuts, raisins, chocolate chip...
4. Evenly distribute in a 8x8 pan covered with parchment paper.
5. Bake for 15-20 minutes.
6. Remove from the oven and let the brownies cool for at least 30 minutes before cutting.
7. Store in fridge or freezer, they taste absolutely delicious cold as well!

BEST WISHES FOR A HAPPY SPRING!

Hoping you are all enjoying yourselves-- having fun doing whatever you are doing. May all your days be full of THANKS, love and life.

PUPPIES STILL AVAILABLE
Not all the puppies are spoken for. They are quiet, very mellow, sociable, and well-mannered—quite unique for Chihuahua.  If you want a perfect 5-pound companion, call me (808-238-1906) and come visit us in June. See for yourself in this video!

I loved staying at the Amara Hotel in Sedona!

Sending Aloha BIG and LONG--with tremendous gratitude for all friends of Dragonfly.

Aloha nui loa,

Gregory Orr, 1947

This is what was bequeathed us:
This earth the beloved left
And, leaving,
Left to us.

No other world
But this one:
Willows and the river
And the factory
With its black smokestacks.

No other shore, only this bank
On which the living gather.

No meaning but what we find here.
No purpose but what we make.

That, and the beloved’s clear instructions:
Turn me into song; sing me awake.
