On My Way!

Dear Family and Friends,
It's with a full heart that I greet you with the wonderful news that I have my final approval to go to Zambia and start my first three year term as a fully-appointed missionary with the Assemblies of God. I have my plane ticket in hand and leave June 1st! Thank you to everyone who has prayed and given, partnering with me to bring God's healing touch to Zambia. It has been exciting to see the body of Christ working together to reach those who need to hear the message of physical and spiritual healing in the Gospel. I continue to be humbled that I get to be the conduit between brothers and sisters in the United States and in Zambia.
After I land, I will begin renewing my work permit and medical license. I look forward to meeting with our church leaders, Community Health Evangelism leaders, and medical partners to hear what has happened in the past two years and where the focus moving forward needs to be. There are exciting developments with the mobile clinic and cervical cancer screening. I will be doing training for that and reconnecting with the clinic and hospital I volunteered at before.
I can't wait to share more details with you as I land and get settled. Many people signed up to receive these email newsletters as I traveled to churches. If anyone mentions they signed up but didn't get one, please tell them to send their email address to me at hmarten1@gmail.com. I had a handful of people aspiring to be a doctor like me in handwriting and couldn't quite read several addresses. I don't want people to miss out. Thank you again for all your prayers and giving. I am taking each smile and message of encouragement with me as I go.
