Skin Cancer Awareness Month

Since May is Skin Cancer month, wanted to give a little information about what we can do to protect ourselves. This is coming from someone who had Stage 2 Melanoma, this really hits home to me. I go in this week for my quarterly follow up. I now make sure that all my vehicles have window film on them to help with the UV protection that I now need. Here is a site to help show what we can do to help prevent skin cancer when it comes to our vehicles.  To learn more about skin cancer click here.

XO2 ADDITIVES

CREATE CUSTOM APPLICATIONS

In addition to truck beds, X02 can be used on many other types of surfaces including wood and metals. To further accommodate your application needs, we offer three additives:

  • Vinyl Flattener – this is a pure vinyl powder, that, when mixed with X02, will give the high-gloss spray on solution a semi-gloss finish. It also contains properties that will transform the rubbery coating and give it more of a hard plastic feel.
  • Gripper – consists of coarse granules that create a sandpaper-like finish. It has aggressive non-slip properties that will help ensure the safety of employees working in heavy duty environments. Perfect for use on oil derricks and on heavy tread plates.
  • Rubber Crumb – this solution also has excellent non-slip properties. Unlike the Gripper additive, it is designed to be used on surfaces where people may be walking barefoot or working on hands and knees. Its rubbery consistency offers a gentle yet highly effective grip solution for truck beds, trailer floors, boats, and boat docks.

WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY

TESTIMONIAL FROM DCNR - BEFORE & AFTER

My Name is Brian and I work for DCNR of Pennsylvania as a diesel construction mechanic and have been a truck and car nut all of my life. A few years back we were looking for more ways to save money and I started looking into different bed liners to help make our trucks last longer.  We have had a few spray in bed liners from other company’s in our fleet trucks, but the cost was prohibitive
to have them done and they seem to fade quickly with time.  Drop in liners where slippery and seem to hold moisture and dirt under them causing damage over time.

The solution was Scorpion and their team. They went over everything with me and always available when I had even the smallest question. For a third of what it cost to have someone else do a liner for us we were able to do our own, saving on cost, man hours and down time.

We have since found many uses for the products Scorpion offers; from marine use on our docks to picnic tables. We have extended the life of our trucks, boats, docks and tables and managed to cut replacement costs and save money doing it ourselves. We now have other departments bringing their trucks to us to add bed liners, Try this product and you won’t be disappointed and find your own things to try it out on and help cut costs and preserve your things for many years to come.

DID YOU KNOW...

I CAN'T DRIVE 55

The first speeding infraction in the U.S. was committed by a New York City taxi driver in an electric car on May 20, 1899.  The driver was Jacob German who drove for the Electric Vehicle Company, which leased its electric taxicabs to be used around New York.

German was driving his taxi at a blistering 12 miles per hour down Lexington Street in Manhattan.  At that time, the speed limit was 8 miles per hour on straight-a-ways and 4 miles per hour when turning.  A police officer on a bicycle observed the 26 year old Mr. German speeding and promptly arrested him and imprisoned him in the East 22nd Street station house.

There is some contention on whether he actually received a paper ticket or not, which would have also made him the first person in the U.S. to receive an actual physical ticket, as opposed to just being the first to be cited for committing a speeding infraction.
