Pederson steals, scores

CF Joc Pederson put the Dodgers ahead for good in the fourth inning of an 8-2 win over Cincinnati. He smoked a game-tying RBI double, stole third base, and scored the go-ahead run on the catcher's errant throw. Pederson also drew his 23rd walk. In the past 15 games, he has as many walks as strikeouts (10 each).

Braves P Julio Teheran had struck out seven of the last eight batters when Milwaukee LF Ryan Braun smashed a 419-foot home run in the fourth inning. The Brewers prevailed 2-1. Braun's eighth HR came on the ninth anniversary of his MLB debut (see below). He also made a diving catch.

Houston reliever Scott Feldman struck out four over two scoreless innings in a 3-2 win over Baltimore. He also yielded two doubles and an intentional walk.

Oakland 3B Danny Valencia singled in a 5-4 loss to Seattle.

Toronto CF Kevin Pillar went hitless in a 6-0 loss to the Yankees.

Detroit 2B Ian Kinsler sat out Tuesday's 3-1 win over Philadelphia due to flu-like symptoms.
