Everest Summit Success!

Exactly one month after reaching the North Pole, Colin summited the tallest mountain in the world and in Asia - Mt. Everest, standing tall at 29,029ft above sea level.

"I think it’s fair to say this was the most exhausting part of the entire project. Obviously the summit day was intense but it was just the cumulative week of two attempts, two windstorms, and having to stay at Camp 3… [I'll just add in here, And 8 other completed expeditions since January 4th!]

I’m really looking forward to sharing all sorts of details about the climb. It was truly remarkable... The thought of climbing another mountain right now is a little bit daunting.

Thank you so much to all the amazing people who sent me messages on inReach. All the support was just amazing. I’m so humbled and grateful. Bedtime here. Hard to believe I was at 29,000ft. Crazy."

Colin O'Brady on the Summit of Mt. Everest - May 19, 2016
Video from on top of the world! Major thanks to Passang Bhote (7-time Everest summiteer) and Dawa Bhote who helped Colin reach the top of the world yesterday! He couldn't have done it without you!

Colin is now safely back at base camp. But no rest for the weary! In the morning he'll fly via helicopter to Kathmandu and have about 12 hours to unwind. Colin will board a flight to Alaska Saturday evening where Denali awaits. It will be so nice to have him back in North America, almost home!

A million thanks to everyone who followed along on summit day. People across the world were refreshing their browsers, watching the little blue dot, tracking Colin to the top of the world along with us. We were on pins and needles all day!

And, from the bottom of my heart, I want to extend many thanks to everyone who generously donated to the Alliance for a Healthier Generation this week. We had many incredible donations come in, and more to come!

Colin is climbing for the kids. He climbed to the top of the world last week so that kids can lead active, healthy lives.
What can you give today? $8, $80, $800 for the 8 expeditions expeditions Colin's completed so far to raise awareness for this cause?

Help us help the kids lead healthy lives!

I am so grateful for Colin's successful on Everest. Most importantly, Colin is safe, healthy and has all his fingers and toes! I'll be meeting him in Alaska to bring this record home! One mountain left to climb on this journey. Thank you for your endless support.

All my best,
Jenna

On May 18th, Colin and Passang Bhote were the last climbers to clip on to the rope and leave Camp 4 for the summit.
