Somers Camp
Every two years our school is offered a limited number of places for students to attend Somers School Camp. Somers offers a fantastic Outdoor Education and Personal Development program with both indoor and outdoor activities.  The camp is run by specialist permanent teaching staff with the assistance of local teachers and this year Grant Hicks will be attending.  Notes requesting expressions of interest were sent home today and need to be returned by Friday, 10th June 2016.
School Uniforms - Mooroopna Mitre 10
Unfortunately Mitre 10 will be closing its doors at the end of the month.  The store currently sells our uniforms and has advised that they have reduced all uniforms by a massive 40%. Stock is limited so it might pay to get in there quickly.

We are currently looking into future uniform arrangements and will advise the outcome in future newsletters.
Melbourne Aquarium Excursion
What a fantastic day we  all had!  Students from Foundation Y had fun writing about their experience:

Tyler – I saw a crocodile and a shark at the Aquarium.
Mellisa – I went in the bus with my mum. We went to the Aquarium.
Leila – I am going on a bus.
Damon – I saw a board and there were colours on it and I saw mine.
Kaitlyn – I saw the dolphins. They were swimming around.
Isabel – The bus ride was long. I like the penguins.
Jett – I saw a crocodile at the Aquarium and it was long.
Reece – I liked when the train went over the bridge.
Amber – I saw fish at the Aquarium.

House Athletics Day
On Monday 23rd of May, 2016 all of Mooroopna Primary School got to go to House Sports Athletics Day. My House Sports teachers were Mrs Keller and Mr Caruso. I packed my bag with lots of food and two drink bottles. When we got to the House Sports I went to my house colour and stayed there until Mr Rogers said to go to the events. The first event I did was the triple jump, I nearly came third but I just missed it. Then I went to the vortex, I nearly got third again. I was very good at throwing the vortex. Next I did distance, I had to run 400 metres.  I ran and ran and I came 2nd   Noa came 1st  and Cooper S came 3rd. It was an intense run.
After our recess I went to the shot put and then I went to the tunnel ball. Next I had lunch and it was a very good lunch to eat. Then I went to sprints. I ran against Noa, Cooper S and Isaiah again. I came 2nd. The last event was the long jump.  Then all the Mooroopna Primary School house colours had to do the relay. When the relay was done Mr Fenton told us who the winner was.  Archer came 4th, McLennan 3rd, Morrell 2nd and Cowper 1st.
I really had a good time at the sports and it was fun to watch everyone run and everyone cheering for their team.

The App also allows you to access the school website and newsletter. It is easy to download. Search TIQBIZ and follow the prompts.  If you run into trouble call into the office and the staff will be able to help set it up for you.

Five of our students represented the school at the National Sorry Day Commemoration in Shepparton today.  Students from throughout local schools attended the commemoration at Latrobe University.
