Josie Wakim is an experienced Psychologist in Counselling (Clinical and Forensic) and Coaching Psychology (Government, Corporate, Private and Personal).
In life we are often faced with challenges that sometimes overwhelm us, even though we may have families and friends, or may be able to deal with things on our own, the real issues are often hidden under many layers of uncertainty, painful memories and life stress, which impact on our ability to understand the Self and the Other. |

Recognising challenges and barriers with the principals of 3Cs (Courage, Choices, Change). The first point of any behavioural change is the recognition that a challenge or issue exists. Secondly, to look at barriers that are preventing you from making decisions that can instigate change. Thirdly, an understanding that change is not always easy, yet, it is possible with the right support and attitude.

Inspiration before Breakfast: Anne Healey
‘2015 Woman Lawyer of the Year’

Anne Healey has practiced at the Bar for 21 years. She was a solicitor from 1987 to 1994, working for Aboriginal and community legal services, in law reform, and as a public prosecutor. She has specialised in criminal law, but has expertise in personal injury, discrimination, civil and human rights law and family provision.
She was elected to Bar Council from 2006 to 2014, serving as Honorary Secretary from 2011 to 2012. She has worked on numerous committees, including the Finance Audit & Investment, Human Rights and Criminal Law Committees. She has mentored many women lawyers and law students as a tutor, employer, and also as a judge and coach of women’s university mooting and trial advocacy competitions. |

Anne has been a member of Women Lawyers since 1986, and was on the Executive in 1987. She has been a consistent supporter of and role model for women lawyers in both the city and in regional New South Wales. Anne was awarded ‘Women Lawyer of the Year’ in the ‘2015 NSW Women Lawyers Achievement Awards’.
Anne will share her career experiences and insights with us, and how leadership has been a factor in her journey.

‘Foundation for escalated career progression’

In order to position themselves for promotion and increase their salary, females require more than just a wealth of experience in their field. They must also have the ability to negotiate their remuneration, identify and market their talents, and communicate on these areas assertively. In the Foundation for escalated career progression workshop Katrina Boyle will provide practical tips and proven strategies which have empowered many women in the legal industry to progress their careers and increase their salaries.
Katrina was a senior executive and had extensive experience in management positions over 20 years including different functional roles across HR, Marketing, Communications and Sales. She now operates her own business as an executive coach, speaker, author and facilitator with a focus on empowering women and leaders to navigate change.
Drawing on her academic qualifications in commerce and human resources as well as her extensive experience as a business leader, Katrina works with clients across various industries including IT, communications, legal, financial, and manufacturing and these organisations range from medium sized to blue-chip corporations.
A passionate coach, Katrina specialises in change management, self-promotion and salary negotiation to help women and leaders develop practical solutions to be empowered to change. Unfinished Business? Workshop

This workshop is a partnership between LIRC, (FIRE), and the South Coast Writers Centre.
Australia is in the throes of a public Recognition campaign, focused upon constitutional reform. As Professor Megan Davis wrote ‘[u]nbeknown to most Australians there has been a backlash against the recognition project in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. Put simply, the project is not hearing Indigenous voices calling for more substantial reform. Recently, Paul Keating weighed in, stating that the recognition campaign had lost direction, and in referring to unfinished business, he invoked the need for a treaty. As Davis reminds us a treaty lays down the foundational principles of a new form of engagement. However, as the experiences in New Zealand and Canada make clear, this has not always happened.
