World Environment Day – Beat Plastic Pollution

In its 18th year World Environment Day held on 5th June each year. This day is the United Nation's principal vehicle for encouraging worldwide awareness and action for the protection of our environment.

India will the global host of World Environment Day for 2018.

With the theme “Beat Plastic Pollution”, the world is coming together to combat single-use plastic pollution.

In the time it takes Hardik Pandya to bowl an over in a cricket match, or approximately 4 minutes, four garbage trucks worth of plastic get dumped into the ocean.

Excessive use of single-use plastic is polluting our oceans, damaging marine life and threatening human health. The theme for World Environment 2018, is urging governments, industry, communities, and individuals to come together and explore sustainable alternatives and urgently reduce the production of plastic.
