It’s a busy time for us in the sound office as we plan our programme for the 2016 soundfestival, running from 20 October to 6 November - just in case you haven’t already got it inked into your diary!

But before the festival we have some surroundsound events coming up - please do come along!
Our next Curious event at Woodend Barn on Thursday 2 JuneIshbel MacFarlane’s ‘Planning’ is an interactive piece for a playing audience and an observing audience about what we need in the places where we live, how we compromise on utopia and why Cumbernauld is how it is.

We are hugely honoured and very excited that our opera production, The Garden, has been selected to be part of Xintiandi Fringe Festival in Shanghai, China. Inspired by Edinburgh’s Fringe Festival, this is the inaugural festival and we wish it every success for the future.

The Xintiandi Fringe Festival runs from 6 - 19 June so if you have friends or family in Shanghai, be sure to tell them all about it!

Composer Matthew Whiteside has written us a blog about his new music experiences and how he became a new music composer. It makes for an interesting read and he’s also included a playlist which may well introduce you to some new sonic adventures - or even reacquaint you with music that you haven’t heard for some time.

We look forward to seeing you soon!
