Cheryl:
I was able to catch some new DVDs: The Revenant, Spotlight, Steve Jobs, Creed and started the Parenthood TV series.
Leanne:
Karen Memory by Elizabeth Bear was a great Steampunk read. The heroine has a lot of spunk and is unusual to say the least!
I can't put down Dark Days Club by Alison Goodman!

Jessie:
Summer is here and to me, that means audiobooks and gardening! There is a great selection of audiobooks (and ebooks) available for free through Wisconsin's Digital Library. I recommend downloading the Overdrive App onto your smartphone or any digital device for convenient access. Audiobooks are great for multitasking, I like to "read" while walking or cleaning. If the thought of downloading is too overwhelming, check out one of our Playaways here at the Library. These individual audiobooks are pre-loaded onto a pocket-sized device, all you have to do is press play!

Karina:
I haven't read many new books lately because I am still (re)-re-reading Maggie Stiefvater's The Raven Cycle books to prepare myself to finally read The Raven King. What I have been enjoying lately is the recently paved and newly lit Rountree Branch Trail running from the dog park to the east commercial end of Platteville (Walmart, Menards, etc). In addition to being a nice, flat walk through lovely woods, this is a great way to listen to my favorite podcast or an audiobook while I get some steps.

Emma:
All the Birds in the Sky, by Charlie Jane Anders. When I bought this book for the collection, I had a really hard time deciding which genre sticker to use: sci-fi or fantasy? After reading it, I still don’t know. It’s techy and fantastical and a little bit whimsical. This book is about two misfit teens, an assassin, a school for witches, and the end of the world.
Lydia:
I re-read Daddy Long Legs (e-book) and Dear Enemy (e-book) by Jean Webster, which are some of my favorite books EVER (this was while sitting on a picturesque veranda getting sunburnt, so ya'll should be jealous). Written in the 1910s, there are one or two problematic elements but the sweet stories and plucky heroines more than make up for it.
