Family & Friends, you are invited!...

I will be co-hosting an Awaken & Activate training in Orange County, June 14-16. If you have been curious at all about the workshops I lead, please consider coming to this training. I’d love to spend this valuable time with you. Please let me know if you are interested and we can discuss logistics/discounts.

Well, we made it through Kindergarten! Good job Mommy! Her reward is that she gets to have her big boy home all day every day now for 3 months. She loves it! We were joined this last Sunday by a bunch of family as my brother Steve and I dedicated our two littlest kiddos, Sutter and Leah. It was a privilege to get to do that together. And normally I don’t preach, but I took the opportunity the Sunday before last to fill in and offer a message that had been on my heart. If you are interested, you can view it HERE. My love for woodworking continues to grow...I made a desk for my good buddy Wix. And other than fixing the fence around our yard this Summer, Emily and I are really looking forward to some rest. It’s been a really busy last 6 months, we need to lay low a bit.

SHERI PETERSEN AND ACTIVATE(D) DINNERS
Last Friday I spent all day with my guru video friend JB Waggoner and another friend and member from our church, Sheri Petersen. I’ve been walking with Sheri over this last year, coaching her through her efforts to live out the Gospel amongst those in the military. We shot footage for 8 short videos about Sheri’s journey. I can’t wait to show you those soon.

We concluded the night with our quarterly “Activate(d) Dinner.”  This dinner brings together some of those who have gone through the workshops with me. We get the chance to check in and share what God has been doing through our lives and ministries, gain encouragement, and spend time praying for each other.

NON-SPAM EMAIL MINISTRY
Last week we had an encouraging visit by some dear friends of ours from my childhood and beyond, my friend Seth and his mother Susan. Susan has an email ministry. Each day, Susan (who's back has more rods and bolts in it that anyone else I know) wakes up and as she spends time with the Lord in devotions, she writes out prayers and thoughts.
She then scrolls through her email contact list asking the Lord to direct her to the people that need to hear what she's written. She only sends her writings to those people, and they frequently respond with how perfect her note was for them that day! I have been one of these people. I am so blessed by how Susan listens to the Spirit. Her back problems keep her from doing other ministries, but God has directed her to this! So cool!
Last November, Emily and I committed to raising full support for our missions work with CRM reFocusing. Today I am thrilled to share that we are just $352/mo away from our 100% goal! Please continue seeking the Lord for our full provision. We long to freely dive fully into everything before us!  (Link to Partner)
My dear friend and someone who has served me with his talents so many times in ministry has written a book for ministry leaders. JB Waggoner helps pastors and communicators expand their ministry reach with his new book Power Beyond The Pulpit: A Guide to Using Social Media, Self-Publishing, Podcasts, Videos, Email, and Blogs in Ministry. I've been really enjoying the read through, and I happen to make a cameo in the book! Check out more about the book HERE.

I’ve been leading our church through a process known as the Missional Pathway. A year and a half ago I started leading personal workshops called “Awaken & Activate” for small groups of people and about 7 months ago our whole church came together to participate in two more workshops called “Assess & Advance. These were designed to help our church identify it’s role in our community and where God might be leading us to invest. It’s helped our church determine that the Big Bear Middle School is a key place for us to begin investing in with our time, talent, and resources. So to kick off our relationship with the school, we hosted a teacher/staff appreciation lunch during teacher appreciation week. It was awesome sitting alongside teachers and getting to know them over a meal. I received several thank you cards from teachers thanking us for the investment. I can't wait to see what God is going to do there!

Thanks for all of your love, prayer and support! We’d love to hear from you!
