              Abundant Life Lines
Issue 21, April 2016
We are preparing for our summer mission teams to come in and help us at Lakota Pointe, Meadow Ridge and Heritagespring.  In April we had people from two of the teams come in and visit the sites to get an idea of where their teams will be serving.  We are very excited about how the Lord will use these teams, along with our core group, to impact the residents at the Multihousing locations where we are currently meeting. The teams are coming in for different amounts of time.  We have one team that will only be here for a day and others that are helping for a week.

We are looking forward to using the team that will be with us for one day to have a FREE yard sale at Meadow Ridge Apartments.  We are praying that this will open the door to us making many new contacts and hopefully allow us to begin small group there again soon.

We we were blessed to get to visit a former youth, Luke Grantz while we were in Florida for a wedding of another former youth. It's easy to get homesick when one is so far from home so we were thrilled to have the opportunity to visit and encourage him during his last month of school.
April Highlights
Lakota Pointe

We started a series about dysfunctional families in April.  The study is going well and the ladies seem to be enjoying it.  We love to gather with them and discuss the truth of God's Word!

With school being out and the weather being better we should begin to see children outside playing.  We will start spreading the word about upcoming backyard Bible clubs that the mission teams will lead here.

We continue to meet with three of the kids for discipleship on Wednesdays.  We are almost finished with the book we have been using. Once we are done with this book they will each get a devotional and we will follow up periodically to see if they have any questions and encourage them to stay grounded in the Word.

                Heritagesprings of West Chester

If you are free the first or second Sunday of the month you should consider joining us at Heritagespring, you will be blessed!  We are thrilled to have another volunteer to play the piano for our chapel services.  Thank you Dot!

These dear senior adults are always so happy to see our group come because they know how much we care about them.  They don't always get the opportunity to go to chapel because they only have one or two employees that can wheel them down for the service.  Because we have volunteers that will help us, more residents get to come.

While we were in Florida we had several people step up and use their gifts for a song service.  The residents always enjoy the song services.  It's amazing how they can recall the words to the old hymns even when most days some of them may have difficulty forming a complete sentence.  It is such a special sight to see!

           Meadow Ridge       and         North Pointe

As was mentioned at the beginning of this newsletter, we are having a FREE yard sale at  Meadow Ridge on June 4.  We are accepting new and gently used clothes and household items for this event.  If you can donate anything we will be happy to pick the stuff up!  We would really like to have LOTS of stuff for the residents to choose from.  We are anticipating children's clothes and toys being popular items.  If you can help by donating things you no longer use or need we would greatly appreciate it!!
We have a Facebook community page and a website. Please take a moment and check them out.  We would love your feedback!

Ongoing Prayer Needs
  • That we would look for, recognize, and create ways to get the Gospel message to the lost people in these multi-housing areas

  • Balancing work, ministry and family
Support our Ministry

We appreciate ALL support for the ministry, we can't do it without the help of others. If you are able to financially support us we would be eternally grateful!!

You can support our ministry in three different ways:

PRAYING

A praying partner commits to praying specifically for my wife and I, our ministry, and our multi-housing residents. Prayer support is vital for us as we serve on the field!

PARTICIPATING
A participating partner commits to becoming involved personally in our ministry. For example, your church may want to send mission teams to assist us or seek to mobilize individuals within your church to be sent as short or long term missionaries as part of our planting team.

PROVIDING

A providing partner commits to supporting our ministry financially. All funds will be handled and deposited by our NAMB strategic partner, Lakota Hills Baptist Church in West Chester, Ohio. All donations are tax deductible. Please make checks payable to Lakota Hills Baptist Church. Be sure to include "Allen Lawless" on the memo line.

Upcoming Events

Small group meetings at Lakota Pointe on May 31, June 13 and June 27 from 7:00-8:15 at the Lakota Pointe Rental office.

Core group dinner / Bible study meeting on Thursdays 6:00 - 8:00 at the Lawless' house.  We are still working on Nobodies for Jesus and are seeing how we need to be more amazed by Jesus and what He has done for us.  We have had four new people join us lately and we love that they decided to come be a part of Abundant Life's Thursday gathering.
HELP WANTED!

Lakota Pointe
We will be having the children go outside during our small group when the weather is nice.  This requires additional people to help with childcare, can you help?!! This does not have to be a long term commitment. Would you be willing to help with even one evening? Would you be willing to be on call in a pinch?
Please consider being part of our childcare team so that the ladies (and hopefully men) can learn truths from God's Word.

Meadow Ridge
We have taken a short break from small groups at Meadow Ridge.  We will resume after we have had a chance to meet more residents and go from there.

Heritagesprings
Do you play an instrument or know somebody that does?We are looking for anyone interested in playing the piano or other instruments during our chapel service the first two Sundays of the month.  We have a rotational schedule and are looking for a minimum of 6 people so that each person only has to commit to 4 chapel services per year!  Your job usually consists of playing two songs during a 30 minute chapel service. This is an easy opportunity for you to use the gifts that God has given you to serve Him.

Please contact Allen or Lisa if you are willing to serve alongside us!
