This morning Central Plains Mennonite Conference Annual Meeting 2016 wraps up with a final worship service.  Pray for your sisters and brothers gathered in Des Moines this weekend.

Upcoming Events

Central Plains Annual Meeting 2016 will take place June 16-19, 2016, in Des Moines, Iowa.
Youth Escape 2016 will take place July 15-17, 2016 in central Iowa.

Finance update

Central Plains budget started the new fiscal year on the short side of income.  Income for the month of May came in at $29,303.18, with a portion of that coming from Annual Meeting registration income.  Meanwhile, expenses for the month held steady at $33,056.53.  As a result, we begin the fiscal year with a deficit of $3,753.35.  We are thankful for all of your contributions and look forward to seeing most of you at Annual Meeting in Des Moines!   Stewardship Task Group

21-27 Shana will be out of the office.
26  Tim will preach at Salem-Zion in Freeman, South Dakota.

15-17  Shana will be at Youth Escape in central Iowa.
16  Dave will attend Shalom Mennonite Church partnership meeting in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
July 18 - August 2  Dave will be on vacation.

Women's Retreat 2016: Rest and rejuvenate

     Women of every age and walk of life are invited to retreat at Swan Lake Christian Camp on September 17 and 18. Come to rest, enjoy the quiet and beauty of nature, sing, laugh and reflect on stories from Debra Worth, relax with a Saturday evening coffee house, and rejuvenate with a Sunday morning communion service. Save the date now -- more information will come later!

     Max has relocated to Ensenada, Mexico, and is hopeful that this could be a good place to stay. Please pray for Max and Gloria as they seek God's guidance in how to reunite their family. Other ways to support the Villatoros:

Mennonite Women summer event 

Networking, friend-making, worship, inspiration, nurture, eating, education and our favorite word:  empowerment – that’s what you can expect on August 12-13, 2016 in Denver. Empowering Women: Money, Health and Faith is an event for and by Mennonite Women that will take place at Peace Mennonite Church in Aurora, Colorado, just east of Denver. Presenters Rhoda Blough, of Denver and Teresa Boshart Yoder of Harrisonburg, Virginia, bring experience and tools for us to understand our relationship with money and our personal health.  These professionals from Everence will provide handouts, books, journals and other resources. Deep Faith:
A Faith Formation Conference

This isn’t your average gathering for faith formation! The Deep Faith Conference will be the first of its kind: a formation conference for and by Anabaptist formation leaders! The conference will gather Anabaptist pastors, teachers and lay leaders to re-imagine what faith formation ministry looks like in this century through theology, relationship and practice. This gathering will take place October 6–8, 2016, at Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary in Elkhart, Indiana.  Find more information and register at http://mennoniteusa.org/deepfaith.
